Tips: It's a little salty so you may want to reduce the amount of added salt when you cook with it. The cube is also sort of moist so you can cut it in half if you just need one cup of veg broth.
As a vegetarian on a ketogenic (low-carb, high-fat) diet, these have been GREAT. When I don't feel well, I just make a broth with a cube, two cups of water, and some coconut oil. I also make a mushroom leek cream soup with them, and they're a great-tasting base, even better than the MSG-filled cubes I'd been using previously (leftover from my late grandmother's cupboard).
At work, someone asked me what smelled so good when I was heating up my soup, and when I mentioned the name, she raved about them herself.
The flavor reminds me a little of the vegetarian noodle soup my mom used to make.
Anyway, I bought a 6-pack, and I would say, since they expire in about a year from when I bought them, you would only want to do that if you think you'll use them quite regularly. They're quite squishy, not the hard little cubes you might be used to. I'll definitely buy them again. I got them about a month ago and have already finished a box of 8.
I even put a cube in to my rice cooker (with the rice) and it really flavors the rice up well.
I'm wary of vegetarian broths because they can often be bland or have a weird aftertaste, but these are a great balance of flavor without being overwhelming. Stock should create a base for your meal, not define it, and that's exactly what these do.

Not sure it was fresh. The individual cubes looked dark on the outside. I think next time I will just get these from the store.Published 1 month ago by Lavoris L'Oreal
