Georgie grew up taking care of Salt Cliff's lighthouse, which has now fallen into disrepair. She is allowed to stay in the adjacent cottage until it's decided what will become of it. Where will she go then?
Colby is injured which causes him to retire from the Navy before he planned. He wants to open a sailing school, and the lighthouse would be the perfect location. Will he bid on the lighthouse and force Georgie to leave the only home she's known?
Georgie opens her heart to Colby, until she reads a letter in his possession. He plans to attend the auction of her lighthouse. She doesn't want to move, but she doesn't have the funds to purchase it. How could he buy it out from under her?
Rapunzel's Lighthouse is a fun read. With her long hair, and Colby's determination, I couldn't put this book down until I'd read to the end to see what would become of Rapunzel's lighthouse.
I received a free copy in the hope that I would mention/review it on my blog. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion - which I've done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
I liked the growth Georgie experienced. I felt that her life was lacking in several ways, but when the chips were down, Georgie came through with flying colors even though I would never have expected what she did to solve her problems.
I'd always wondered how you retold a fairy tale, and I now understand. Lorenzen was true to the story, but her take on it makes for an afternoon of delightful reading. I recommend you pick up a copy and give it a try.
Lorenzen’s latest is an enjoyable tale. It’s a bit hard to understand at first why Georgie acts the way she does, but there is good development to explain things as the story unfolds. This is the first book I’ve read by Lorenzen, but I’ll certainly be looking up others. If you’re want a quick read this summer, this is one to check out.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy, but I wasn’t required to write a review.
It was enjoyable though I had hoped for an epilogue at the end.
