Simon had been laying floors since he was released from prison, but a customer learned of his past and he was let go.
Each one was desperate for a way to earn enough to make a start in life. Then a way was presented, a hard way. As contestants on a survivalist show, if they worked as a team to find the treasure, each winner would get half a million do!lars.
Will they survive? Will they win the money? Will two loners learn to get along to work as a team? You've got to read Sara Foust's "Rarity Mountain" to find these answers. Believe me, you'll be glad you did!
Sequel to it in future titled LETTERS OF HOPE. Vickey STamps
This is the third book in Foust’s Love, Hope and Faith series, with each book being a standalone with a clear Christian message amidst the suspense, action and romance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was under no obligation to write a positive review, but have shared my own thoughts.
Rarity Mountain was a different type of suspense from the first two in the series. Simon and Fern were cast together to survive in the wilderness for a television show. Their individual motivations for going on the show made perfect sense in the context of the story. Would I have done that in their situations? Are you kidding? I would die in the wilderness like that!!
There were a couple of things that could have been better. In some places, the time frame seemed jumbled. Also, at the beginning of the book, Simon pretty much brushed off God despite knowing about Him (his brother is a pastor). Though we saw a point where he knew he needed prayer because of an accident, all of a sudden nearer the end he appeared to have a strong faith. The switch seemed a bit too abrupt and could have been developed more.
These are minor quibbles, though, and I really enjoyed Rarity Mountain.
I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
Yet, the two contestants, Simon Fincuff and Dr. Fern Strongbow discover that their physical well-being is not all that’s at stake. Forced to face their own personal demons of their pasts, both grow in not only stamina, but in a knowledge of themselves, each other, and God.
Add to the drama the strange and complex nature and motivations of the creator of the survivor TV show, Survival Tennessee, and you have a novel filled with colorful characters, suspense, and pulse pounding adventure.
Rarity Mountain is the third in the Love, Hope, and Faith Series. This wilderness adventure story explores not only the question of how far the characters will go to achieve financial gain, but how much courage they have to confront the darkest secrets of the past.
I recommend this book to readers who enjoy romance with an intense and challenging faith journey.
