    Eh, it's OK.
It works like it's supposed to. The colors are a bit drab. I wouldn't exactly call it a deal, considering I can get an entire 8" tablet for the same or le$$, that has just as good a display (if not better). At least I'd be getting a computer out of the deal. The whole reason I bought THIS instead is because I want to bury a Raspberry Pi in this little scooter I own, and only have the display out there where someone can steal it. But at $70 just for the screen, I shoulda just gone to Walmart and bought a cheap 8" tablet. I may still have to do that, as this one is way too bulky for where I want to stick it. It might not be if I can move the controller board, but I don't know if I'll be able to find a ribbon cable extension. Oh well.. Live and learn.UPDATE: When I went to disassemble the unit to determine whether the parts could still be used for the purpose I had originally intended, I found that whoever had initially assembled it had broken the ribbon connector on the controller board and tried to repair it with silicone (picture attached). As it does still work, and makes a fair desktop security monitor, I WILL be keeping it (enjoy my $70). I just thought the world ought to be aware of my experience.UPDATE ON THE UPDATE: Well, after a couple of months, I have to say that even with its shortcomings it has proven to be the only Pi screen I've bought so far that hasn't managed to burn itself out after only a couple of weeks. So I'm bumping it up a star. Will give it two if it lasts the rest of the year. Oh, and you're probably going to want to fix the backside of the case where the speakers mount. They had to mount them flat against the plastic to get them to fit, so they vibrate. You're going to have to router that out if you don't want them sounding like total c___.

This display screen is quite small for those of us with aging eyes, but the picture is very clear and bright. The ability to mount the Pi of the back is ideal since it can be handled as one unit. You can still connect the Pi to another monitor and/or connect another video source to the screen with HDMI or VGA. The sound quality is poor since the speaker is very small, but that's to be expected for a unit this size. And you can connect external audio. The quality seems very good; no problems so far.
    Very useful device!

This was just delivered so I'm kinda jumping the gun, but this is my third attempt at getting a good screen AND case for the Raspberry Pi 4, so I'm very grateful to have it.

Screen quality is good. I'd say it's about as good as any desktop monitor I've had, and better than some laptop screens for how small it is. Viewing angle doesn't affect this screen as much as it would a laptop screen.

On that note, I'm not as in love with the case. It's sturdy enough, but I'll have to MacGyver it to get the right angle. I'm also a cord-hater so it bugs me to have cords sticking up and out of the top. Overall, though, it's a good case for the screen.

As you can see, I didn't mount the Raspberry Pi onto the case, as I'd already used the NES case. So I can't really vouch for that part of the case, or the included cables since I had to use longer ones.

Assembly was easy and only required a tiny Phillips screwdriver.

Overall good screen. Unfortunately, it was too bright for my needs (bedside clock), but the screen had good visual qualities.

    Pros:
    - Easy to use / set up - about 1 hour of time removing paper and screwing things together
    - Clean / Clear display - no 'dead pixels' etc.

    Cons:
    - seperate power supply for PI / screen.
    - Screen bleeds blue light at high angles. Imagine perpendicular being 0, at about 80 degrees the screen gets a strong blue look.
    - Not suitable for 'bedside' clock. Too bright, plus the blue bleed at the angles.

I ordered the PI foundation 7" screen to see if it solves the brightness issues, but this screen would make a good desktop / daytime clock.

I use SSH to manage my devices most of the time, and only need the screen for initial setup. This monitor is small enough to keep my workspace clean.

Likely works well on regular PC/server hardware.

This is a very nice display with good viewing angles, no dead pixels, and comes with a power supply, a sort of a Raspberry Pi 3 "case" for mounting it on the back, an HDMI cable, and a remote that, in all honesty, I rarely use. It took me just a few minutes to mount my Pi 3 on the back, hook it up, and boot everything. Due to the built-in legs the viewing tilt is fixed but it's just the right angle on my desk so it works for me. Also, the default resolution of the monitor (1024x600) is not native to Raspbian, which sets the resolution at 1024x768. This "squashes" things a bit so I changed the settings in the config.txt file. If you don't want to do that the next best option is to set the resolution to 1280x720 in the Raspberry Pi Configuration options. It's small, but it scales correctly.
This display makes it possible to set up different builds like RetroPie on the device while researching the guides on my desktop PC. This is the main reason I got it so it's doing a good job of fulfilling its intended purpose.

The item is nice and the screen works perfectly for my raspberry pi. The sound was loud and clear when it worked but sound only worked for like 2 days and then stopped working after that. At first i thought there something wrong with my raspberry pi so i redid everything and re installed everything but it just wouldnt work anymore. Now i have to use my raspberry pi’s headphone jack. Good picture quality though.

So i purchased this unit to use in a headunit replacement for my car, along with Pi running my tuning software for the car.
I jumped when i ordered all my stuff and realized after assembly that this unit does not have touch...sucks but not a kill.

The first thing i noticed, the screen though it is supposed to be 1024x600, will not fit 1024x600, it boxes it leaving sides. 1024x576 fits the screen with no stretching.
The kicker on that, as far as i can tell via windows/pi the screen IS a 1280x720, obviously itll scale up if you go higher, but there is no pixel loss at 720.

Build quality...i wish the board screws were longer for support of mounting a second card like the x400.
The built in speakers are complete garbage, but i have no plans to use them anyway.

Overall i am happy with it, as others have mentioned, the plastic is super cheap

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value, and useful screen, better than expected performance
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 27, 2020
Bought this to program my raspberry pi and play some retro games such as Hexen. I was wasn't expecting much at this price, but I was pleasantly surprised by its performance. I used the screen on a lap tray along with keyboard and mouse. The speakers are small so dont expect high quality sound, or it being loud, but they are adequate. I fitted the supplied case bits to my Raspberry pi 3, but I found it ran a little warm to my liking, so I ordered a dual fan assembly. The only issue being I couldn't fit the plastic sections of the case with the fan fitted, so my pi is just screwed to the back with no case. The screen comes with feet of sorts, but the screen can be a little top heavy so you have to take care as it can full over, but as long as you are aware of this it's not a problem. I had my screen for 6 months when it unfortunately developed a fault with one of the speakers, but I can't praise the supplier enough in sorting out the issue, and would buy from them again.
I have been really pleased with the screen and would recommend it, if you consider the price you can't really go wrong.
