Very useful device!
Screen quality is good. I'd say it's about as good as any desktop monitor I've had, and better than some laptop screens for how small it is. Viewing angle doesn't affect this screen as much as it would a laptop screen.
On that note, I'm not as in love with the case. It's sturdy enough, but I'll have to MacGyver it to get the right angle. I'm also a cord-hater so it bugs me to have cords sticking up and out of the top. Overall, though, it's a good case for the screen.
As you can see, I didn't mount the Raspberry Pi onto the case, as I'd already used the NES case. So I can't really vouch for that part of the case, or the included cables since I had to use longer ones.
Assembly was easy and only required a tiny Phillips screwdriver.

Pros:
- Easy to use / set up - about 1 hour of time removing paper and screwing things together
- Clean / Clear display - no 'dead pixels' etc.
Cons:
- seperate power supply for PI / screen.
- Screen bleeds blue light at high angles. Imagine perpendicular being 0, at about 80 degrees the screen gets a strong blue look.
- Not suitable for 'bedside' clock. Too bright, plus the blue bleed at the angles.
I ordered the PI foundation 7" screen to see if it solves the brightness issues, but this screen would make a good desktop / daytime clock.
I use SSH to manage my devices most of the time, and only need the screen for initial setup. This monitor is small enough to keep my workspace clean.
Likely works well on regular PC/server hardware.
This display makes it possible to set up different builds like RetroPie on the device while researching the guides on my desktop PC. This is the main reason I got it so it's doing a good job of fulfilling its intended purpose.
I jumped when i ordered all my stuff and realized after assembly that this unit does not have touch...sucks but not a kill.
The first thing i noticed, the screen though it is supposed to be 1024x600, will not fit 1024x600, it boxes it leaving sides. 1024x576 fits the screen with no stretching.
The kicker on that, as far as i can tell via windows/pi the screen IS a 1280x720, obviously itll scale up if you go higher, but there is no pixel loss at 720.
Build quality...i wish the board screws were longer for support of mounting a second card like the x400.
The built in speakers are complete garbage, but i have no plans to use them anyway.
Overall i am happy with it, as others have mentioned, the plastic is super cheap

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value, and useful screen, better than expected performance
I have been really pleased with the screen and would recommend it, if you consider the price you can't really go wrong.
5.0 out of 5 stars SunFounder 7" IPS Display Panel Monitor
4.0 out of 5 stars Un bel écran d'appoint
