Ratchet & Clank
It's time to rip the galaxy a new one. Ratchet & Clank contains over 36 weapons and gadgets to choose from. With all that hardware at hand, it's no wonder Ratchet, a wrench-wielding Lombax, and his robot buddy Clank, have itchy trigger fingers. Think about it. You can choose from burning, bombing, exploding or obliterating your enemies. So go ahead, blow it up. Blow it all up. It isn't the size of your weapons that count. It's how many you have and better yet... How you use 'em.
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
Ratchet and Clank are back, and they're going commando. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando features more than 50 of the coolest weapons and gadgets ever imagined. The more stuff you blow up, the stronger Ratchet gets and the bigger and badder the weapons you'll have. Plus, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando features all-new side challenges: destroy hordes of enemies in gladiator arenas, upgrade your ship and pick off enemies in space combat and leave competitors to eat your dust in hi-speed challenge...You up for it?!
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
The third installment of the Ratchet & Clank franchise incorporates new elements of gameplay not seen previously in the series, including online and offline multiplayer capabilities that will appeal to a wide variety of players. Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal returns gamers to Planet Veldin, the setting of the original Ratchet & Clank, where the duo set off on a gripping new adventure through a multitude of diverse planets to fight for galactic peace. Players will be able to earn up to 20 weapons (including online and offline) with up to four levels of upgrades for most weapons, plus new high-tech gadgets to help them through their journey.

This game, obviously, comes with the first three Ratchet and Clank games. The graphics aren't remastered at all really, and still look PS2 worthy even in their 1080p screen time, but graphics don't make the game and these games are extremely fun. It brings me back to the times when games were made to be games, not all this VR hyper realistic open world choice based cry-over-the-characters games (not that there's anything wrong with those).
Of the three I would say the second Ratchet and Clank is my favorite with the third being my least favorite. The stories are hilarious, the combat is great (although I despise how they give you so much nanotech in the later two games but enemies do so much damage you die in 3 hits anyway, even with armor upgrades), and they're all extremely memorable even for today. I was glad to be able to experience them all and recommend this to people who haven't played the games before, or for people who have and want to relive the glory of Ratchet and Clank.
Ratchet & Clank: Good, and arguably the most challenging of them all. It does feel a bit dated.
Ratchet & Clank Going Commando: Fantastic game loaded with shooting action, platforming, and RPG elements.
Ratchet & Clank Up Your Arsenal: One of my favorite games of all time. The dialogue is hysterical. Very underrated story. Dr. Nefarious is a fantastic antagonist.
Other game collections worth checking out are the Sly Collection and Halo Master Chief Collection.
Note, and I cannot 100% confirm this, but this version is different than the PS4 game. It's been awhile but I believe this was the Remaster of the original PS2 games....vs the PS4 version is kinda similar but redone (only noticed when I was looking up tutorials/walkthroughs).
With the recent release of the new remake/remaster of Rachet and Clank for the PS4, some players may want a bit of the nostalgia of the old. This is the game collection for you. Up-resed to look great on modern consoles, bugs and glitches from the old PS2 versions fixed, and best of all trophy support for the score chasers.
A solid 5 out of 5 and worth the money! Great for both old and potential new fans of the series.
First of all, Insomniac and Idol Minds did an -excellent- job of porting these games. They play extremely well and they look great, which is saying something considering they used to be on the PS2. The fact that these games look good is a testament to Insomniac's original design - mainly the art style and use of colors. It's especially nice to play games that look like this after the flood of "realistic" brown we keep getting these days.
As for the games themselves, I think the only one that doesn't really hold up is the first game, and that's mainly because it's lacking so many of the features that were added in the second game and have come to be known as mainstays of the series, such as strafing and weapons leveling up. The game is still worth a playthrough for lifelong fans just for the nostalgia trip, but you probably won't play it again.
The second and third games, though, are -still- excellent, extremely fun and offering a ton of replay value. They also look a lot better (the transition to HD having been much kinder), and they play really well.
This is a perfect time to pick this up. If you're a longtime fan or have never played the series before, either way this is a great buy, and you'll get a lot of value considering the time you'll spend playing these (especially if you go for all the extras, which can over double the playtime of each game). The humor and gameplay and even graphics all still hold up.
I say buy this now, and once you're done start on the Future series on the PS3. You'll likely come to love the quirky humor and ridiculous weaponry of this series as much as anyone who was there from the start.
