Top Customer Reviews
I honestly don't know where all these good reviews came from. But since I am in the minority here, and the book didn't cost anything (I would have been miffed if I spent even 99 cents on it), try it. It could just be my inability to pretend that something like the story in this could ever happen. It was total fantasy, and not a very good one.
I know plenty of people who work those 80 to 100 weeks in law firms, and although it is pretty awful, it is not like he described in the book.
Waste of my time.
Great book. 5 stars rating.
This book is about life of a young man who happened to be a New York lawyer and his own path to freedom and success passing a number of odd obstacles including work at the law firm where people's lives and opinions did not count, his personal issues due to a breakup with girlfriend and financial ones keeping him a slave of his boss. What happened next is a vision of main character and his actions. Can we judge him? Probably not, because everybody is entitled to build his own world. A world of half of dreams and half of reality.
Masterly linked events and characters makes you feel a part of the show and encourage you to read more and more. I would not compare author's style to any others but I would make some parallel with O. Henry a master of satire and suspense in one package.
After I've finished reading this book I've realized how fast time passed and I regretted there are no more pages left ... well like after watching a great movie you still continue thinking what if and how come? If you really caught yourself in that kind of position then you read something meaningful... something that will stay in your mind and bring laughs and thoughts for the rest of your life.
Great work! Expect Unexpected!!
