I'm hooked on Ravensburger Escape puzzles. Some of the clues are fairly difficult to solve, some take math skills, but you can get hints. These puzzles are always fun to assemble, edges are a challenge. Would not buy any other brand (have tried but too easy), this is my fourth one!

Spoiler alert - don't look too closely at my picture as the puzzle assembles differently from what's pictured on the box cover. This may have been my favorite Ravensburger puzzle to date as you're forced to assemble the puzzle without the benefit of the picture on the box top. As always, high quality, great colors - you can't beat a Ravensburger puzzle. Now I have to figure out the Escape portion of the puzzle - wish me luck!

FIrst Ravensburger Escape Puzzle Attempted -- Missing Quite a Few Border Pieces

So like a lot of families we build puzzles over the holidays. Like even more families we started builing puzzles during the pandemic. Ravensburger puzzles is one of our favorite brands and we have built well over 50 Ravensburger puzzles. My son and I love puzzles and mysteries so when we happened across the Escape Puzzles we opted to given them a go and decided upon the Vampire's Castle and Witches Kitchen given our shared loved of horror and Halloween (will be here before we know it!). We decided to build the Vampire's Castle first and as is our custom we started with the border. Ravensburger stated the puzzle dimension was approximately 27" x 20". We would be able to "complete" the border with a finished measurement of 27" x 18.5"; the top/bottom borders looked correct while both the left/right sides did not looked correct. Additionally the left edge had 23 pieces while the right edge only 21 so we knew we were missing at least 2 pieces from the right edge. I posted a question on Amazon asking whether any Amazon customers knew the finished dimensions of the puzzle. One customer (Larimer) replied 27" x 19.5" was the finished dimension. This means that we are missing 6 pieces (2 pieces for the left edge and 4 pieces for the right edge). We have never had a Ravensburger puzzle with missing pieces and have considered ourselves fortunate in this regard. I did see some negative reviews cited missing pieces, however this true of negative reviews for almost every puzzle I have purchased or considered on Amazon. Therefore I purchased this puzzle knowing that some buyers were missing pieces tempered by my experience of never receiving a puzzle with missing pieces. Our plan is to continue finishing the puzzle and hoping the none of the missing 6 pieces are required to solve the mystery. For those who don't know, the Escape Room puzzles include clues in the finished picture of the puzzle. The answers to each of these clues (8 in the case of this puzzle) is a number. You search for the border piece that contains this number and extract it from the puzzle. Once you have found and solved all the clues you will have a set of border pieces. You then build a "mini puzzle" using these border pieces to get the overall solution to the Escape Puzzle. Therefore there is some risk that one (if not more) of the missing boder pieces will be required to obtain the overall solution. Now, Amazon is providing a replacement puzzle which hopefully will have the missing pieces. Amazon's customer service is truly outstanding and in this case they are providing a replacement for an issue for which is not their fault and not in their control. Apparently Ravensburger has issues with their Escape Puzzles in terms of providing qualtiy control ensuring a complete puzzle. Hopefully that will not be the case when we get around to building the Witche's Kitchen. Once we have completed the Vampire's Castle, I will post an updated review discussing the overall build and solution experience.

This is a fun puzzle - to assemble. Nice looking and not overly difficult. However, unless you like banging your head on walls and screaming, don't even bother to try to figure out the puzzle part. If they even gave a clue it might help. All you have is numbers and symbols in the puzzle itself and quite a few numbered edge pieces. I LOVED algebra in high school and I even went on to get an Engineering degree from UCLA and I gave up trying to figure it out. I finally opened the little envelope, hoping it would explain how to proceed, but all it did was to tell me which pieces to take from the edge and showed a picture of what I was to do with them. By then I didn't really care. By all means, do gift this to someone - preferably someone you are annoyed with who thinks they know everything.

Quiere decir que al no encontrar la que buscamos, es porque algo "aparecerá" en ese lugar especial. Además, al estar terminado, hay un juego muy entretenido con enigmas y pistas ocultas, ahí vienen las instrucciones. Muy buen rompecabezas dinámico. Recomendable.
