Great Design

In my opinion, a wine decanter has two purposes. The first is simply being a convenient vessel in which to pour wine. The consequence of doing that is that the contents of the bottle become exposed to air and oxygen. This allows the wine to develop and show its character. The second purpose is to allow that process to continue as the wine sits in the decanter. Therefor, the best shape for a decanter is one with a wide bottom exposing as much of the wine as possible to the air letting it continue the process of evolving to whatever the skills of the winemaker will allow.

The Ravenscroft Infinity Crystal Decanter has that design. In addition,it also has a smaller, thicker base on which to stand giving it greater strength where it contacts surfaces. The mouth is wide like a funnel for easy pouring, and the neck stem is easy to hold onto when you're using one hand to pour.

This decanter holds a bottle of wine 780 ml and it is the perfect size and looks very eye appealing. Good quality! I wash it by hand because the glass will turn cloudy if washed in the dishwasher.

This is a beautiful and well made decanter

This is a beautiful and well made decanter. The problem is that it is not big enough to hold a 750ml bottle and allow enough room to breathe. The picture is a bit deceiving, from my experience it actually fills a good bit higher, leaving maybe 2" of area to breathe. I returned this in favor for their magnum version, linked below. It fills a 750ml perfectly, allowing for the entire width of the decanter to be used.

This looks nice but is not terribly functional and tricky to pour out of. I think you could just pour your wine 20 minutes before drinking and get the same effect. It is VERY delicate. I had it 3 days before chipping the lip and then a 1 inch triangular piece broke off 2 uses later. It ended up in the recycle bin.

Well made, not too delicate, easy pour (I tend to spill when pouring wine, can't quite twist my wrist with the wine bottles just right yet - and I don't spill pouring from the decanter). The squared off base is great on the bottom too. Very stable, attractive and functional.
