I loved this product the other 3 times ordering. The last order when I finally opened to try it, was very hard. I thought it might soften more but when I tried applying it I also noticed a strong smoky and unpleasant smell. The other batches never felt this hard or had a strong smell like that so I can only assume I received an old and bad batch of shea butter.
At this point I would not recommend this product. The quality has shifted down as many recent reviews suggest.
I ordered a replacement depending on the quality I may update my review.
UPDATE:
I received my replacement and it's the original quality I expected before! The butter is soft and has the normal shea butter smell. I would recommend if you do order to check your batch before using in case you need to return it. I'm open to ordering again but will definitely be more wary in the future.

I have never been so moisturized in my life lol. This has taken a bit of an adjustment period for me because I’ve never used unrefined shea before. It has a nutty smell, almost like chocolate? But smokier. When you sniff the jar it’s pretty intense but once you spread it and get it on your skin, the smell dissipates. You definitely don’t notice it once you get your usual perfume or deodorant on. It took a few days to figure out how much to put on because the first couple times I was a walking oil slick lol. A little goes a long way I’ve come to find out. My new routine is to fill the sink with hot water and let the jar sit in it while I shower. It becomes soft and easy to spread and melts down to an oil (also after you do this the first time, the butter stays softer so it’s easier to get pieces out so it’s good to do at least once) You don’t have to do this, it just saves some time. Otherwise you just dig out little pieces and melt it with your hands. So far, I’ve loved the results. My skin always feels super smooth now. It helped my cuticles repair from the beating they’ve taken from more frequent hand washings. I was having a breakout and a dry patch on my face form and it’s been healing up nicely since I started putting this on every night. It’s helped with ingrown hairs I get from chub rub (thighs rubbing together). The bumps are going down and becoming flat. I’ve definitely struggled with taking care of my skin over the years. I absolutely HATE the feeling of heavy creams and lotions. But this is a nice oil that absorbs quickly (once you figure out how much you need to use lol) and just keeps me feeling soft. I love this so much!
