I hope the next book in the series comes out soon because I want to see Veda and Gage get their HEA. My heart bleeds for Lincoln. He found and lost his wife within 24 hrs and gaines a family member.
Well done Trevion. Just the right amount of suspense and mystery. I loved it.
We have to be realistic though there is no way they will singlehandedly bring down this prostitution ring that easily in the remaining books. It just isn't feasible. I mean think about it, covert operations with the necessary funds, manpower, intel and ability to work undercover well, would hit some serious, major roadblocks. That type of money and power will not crumble and disintegrate that easily. Linc and Veda have a lot of work on their hands and will need help. So I'm sorry there is no way it will be that easy for Linc and Veda.
What I would LOVE to see Ms. Burns is a new spin off series on Veda and Linc as they maybe become partner private detectives and create a team of like minded resourceful individuals. There can be so many possibilities with this. How these two continue to cope with their loss. With the possibility or fact that he and Gage are brothers and Gage's dad is Linc's mom's rapist, making Veda's and Gage's child his niece or nephew which in turn makes Emma Veda and Gage's child's cousin. Linc finding and getting to know his daughter. He and Veda making the best of their blended family while being sleuths. The possibilities are endless. The Sookie Stackhouse books were series based, as is the Walking Dead series and many others. A spin-off series can begin a new chapter of their lives with Linc and Veda as the central core characters as we are given the opportunity to see other relationships, grow, develop, end, hit road bumps.etc while they do their best to fight crime.
There are so many other characters that would be a part of their private investigators business Jake that Lab tech, her crazy female best friend, the biracial sister of her first victim. I wonder if Veda could use other methods to get revenge on these men other than snipping off their family jewels. She could have a computer expert (another opportunity to introduce a new fascinating chracter) take away the things that matter most to these men. Money, power, notoriety, public influence, etc.
To me at this point in time there is no way the police should not have alerted the remaining men. No way these men of influence would not then have the best security their money can buy, no way these men wouldn't ensure they have excellent security measures in place such as hi-tech cameras and the like.
I love how Gage realized that he would not be without Veda regardless of what he had told her he realized she will always be the one.
My heart goes out to Linc because he goes through a lot in this book from learning his wife is alive to knowing they have a five year old daughter to his wife being murdered AND to discover Veda's secret I mean how much can a man take AND to find out Gage is his half brother!!!
