Raw Wounds will catapult readers to a new consciousness. In his latest book, Kondwani Fidel uses youth-friendly language to explore the dynamics of social oppression and social justice. American civil rights educator DeRay McKesson praises Fidel as "an artist who understands his role as an activist, using language to empower, to enrich, and to inform." Reading like a memoir at times, the book details Fidel's personal experiences living in East Baltimore. This narrative reveals the poor conditions of race relations in America, prompting best-selling author MK Asante to note, "Raw Wounds is an explosive indictment on injustice." Throughout the book, Fidel magnifies the issues of systemic racism and policies: commonplace for Black people, but often overlooked by much of America. Virginia State University professor Dr. Zoe Spencer declares Raw Wounds "a critique of the system of our oppression and a critique of the dysfunction in our own families, relationships, and communities." Fidel's vulnerability on these pages reminds readers of the prominence of mental illness--and how little attention we pay it. He shares a powerful message that is relevant to us all. New York Times bestseller D. Watkins proclaims, "Raw Wounds is eye-opening to outsiders and liberating to those who lived in and are still living these experiences."

Paraphrasing Tupac Shakur:
East Baltimore is the concrete. Mr. Fidel is the rose. This book, "Raw Wounds" is an uncut look at the damaged petals. Don't ask why the rose has damaged petals, ask how he grew through the concrete.
This is definitely more then a cover, one page and you are in deep with every word on every page.....did you buy it yet??....I highly recommend that you do.
