I opted for the black frames with gray polarized glass lenses. This is the most premium lens ray ban offers for the Predators (2027). I've always felt that if you're going to pay more than $100 for sunglasses, you should get glass, as they will last substantially longer than polycarb lenses. The optical quality of the premium gray glass polarized lenses is excellent. Contrast is perfect, colors pop without being exaggerated, you can make out a lot of details that you couldn't otherwise because of light.
Let me say that these are for larger faces. If you have a smallish, or even medium face, either look at another frame or at least make sure you try a pair on first. However, if you have a largish face, the fit is excellent. These are light, yet stay firmly planted on your face, no matter how active you are. They block the sun from nearly all angles, yet they don't feel like you are wearing goggles, like some wrap arounds. with some wrap around designs, it can feel like your eyes are being suffocated, as they completely block all air circulation. Howver, with the predators, ventilation is good. They can occasionally fog up if you're sweating in already humid weather, but that's going to be the case with any wrap around type style, and many non wrap around styles.Read more ›
I wanted to try the Predator 2, but I am not as pleased as I was with the Predator 1. They are, of course, high quality Ray-Ban sunglasses. The lenses are glass, instead of cheap, ugly plastic. I can really notice the difference when I switch between the Predator 2 and my Spy Cooper sunglasses. The plastic lenses cause more eye fatigue the colors are somewhat odd compared to Ray-Ban's lenses. However, I think that the Predator 2 model is too wide. They don't really fit too well horizontally. Other than that, good sunglasses.
These are big frames and lenses - my head is definitely bigger than most at 7 3/4 hat size and they just barely fit my face without being too large. The case has the Ray Ban gold seal on it and is good but I wish Ray Ban would design a case like Oakleys which stop the arms from rubbing against the lenses when inside. Otherwise it's a premium case, well made and includes a cleaning cloth and a warranty booklet and an Icons mini-catalog booklet.
The glass lens displays the Ray Ban logo and a P for polarized in the corner. The other lens has a small RB on it. There are no injection seams or rough areas or defects whatsoever anywhere on my very smooth frames. The hinges are not the usual metal 7-prong but are the same material as the frames to match the style.
Comparing these with Oakley Half Wire 2 and Flak glasses which I've had for years I say these are much, much better and I have no doubt they will last many years wth basic care. My previous Ray Bans are still going at 11 years old.
The polarized glass lenses are what makes these worth the streep price to me. I've tried a lot of other sunglasses from higher-end to average over years and none have matched the performance and comfort of Ray Bans for me. The Oakleys are fine but seem either overbuilt to absurdity or very fragile like my Half Wires which have already broken twice at the hinges with careful use.Read more ›

I bought these at my eye doctor's office. I figured since they were a brand name and a high price that they would be quality sunglasses. Read morePublished 19 days ago by Benjamin Morgan
