But really, these shades are great. They are lightweight, feel extremely sturdy and come with the classy Ray-Ban carrying case we all know and love. The only down-side is that the nose pads can leave marks on your face if you press them too firmly into your face, but thats not really an issue with the sunglasses but nose pads in general. Be sure to try these on in a store and get the right size, but buy them on Amazon, because that's where the best price is ;)
As for shipping, it was relatively on time. The range was rather large, but hey, patience is a virtue.
BUY THESE GLASSES. They will rock your world.
They arrived promptly and after a quick adjustment of the nose pieces they fit very well. A fatal flaw for some that my father pointed out is that they do not cover your entire view and there fore are not the absolute most effective sunglasses, but let's be real most of us buy these because they're extremely fashionable.
All of this was fine and good until I went on holiday to the UK. I wore them out quite often and they were still holding up quite well, until one morning as I sat down at an out door table at a coffee shop to enjoy a latte. Before I really knew what was happening a magpie swooped down and snatched my beautiful Italian made specs and flew off. I was flabbergasted. The coffee bar girl had to explain to me that magpies love to decorate their nests with shiny objects and say my spiffy shades as a piece of fine furniture.
All in all I would highly recommend these sunglasses, though be careful of any lurking Maggie's nearby. Since then I am always wary of wear I set my shiny valuables.
This pair was authentic, just so you know, because there are many sellers of sunglasses and unfortunately some are fakes. Fakes can make it onto Amazon too.
Some 90% of the glasses market is controlled by one company--Luxotica--which basically has a monopoly and sets prices. I got mine in 51 cm size for $76 (I know the price varies); same as the 49 cm. I think for a man this larger size looks better.
There was a very tiny flaw in one of the rims, like it was banged up or something, but I was inspecting this pair veeery closely. If I were at the store, I'd have asked for another pair, but I kept mine.
