1. Level Design. I honestly think it is the best level design since Mario Galaxy series.
2. Music: The music in all the levels is great. The music theme levels are a blast.
3. Old levels from Origins. As someone who never played origins, I feel like I got two games in one.
4. Co-OP- While no online co-op.....I love couch co-op with friends.
Try this game if you like platforming games. Great for all ages and honestly more games like this need to be made. I know it has not sold well but I hope UBI Soft has the sense to keep making these games. In an era of shooters it is nice to play a great platforming game once in a while.
Purchased as a gift for someone else. We've both ended up playing the game however.
I originally purchased this game because my wife requested it and Little Big Planet 3. However, after seeing the review for LBP3 I decided to go for this and Rayman Origins because of the good reviews.
What I (we) love:
This game has fantastic music. I love the music levels, and love the scoring for the menu music and levels. The image and detail are really awesome. I read a review before I bought it that talked about how this game is one of the very few these days that strays away from first-person shooters and grim, post-apocalyptic storylines. I agree completely, that is a breathe of fresh air. It is bright and colorful and an all around great game. I would most likely purchase another Rayman game if they were to release one.
What I don't love:
Very little. I might comment that this game seems rather short with not a tons of worlds or levels per world, but with all the extra features (such as daily challenges and "Return to Origins", etc) I can't dock any stars.
This game is fantastic. Excellent purchase, especially for ($20). I would recommend this game to almost any game enthusiasts.
-Best platform art game I seen since Rayman Origin.
-Comparable alternative for Super Mario type game on Playstation and Xbox
-Includes stages from the Rayman Origin game
-Easy add in and drop out for couch COOP.
-Not much difference since Rayman Origin except the soccer mini game. No new "WOW" factor.
-A hard game even for adult gamers like me. May not recommend for young children because of that.
-The PS3 version lacks the touch screen function like the Wii U Gamepad, which makes the added mechanics awkward.
Graphics: Beautifully hand drawn. This is the kind of game that makes you stop playing to admire the work of the designers. It is also the kind of game you'll want to show everyone. It is just that pretty.
Gameplay: The difficulty curve is perfect. This is a hard game but it eases you into things, gives you unlimited lives and plentiful save points. It will occasionally become frustrating but not impossible. You never feel that the game is unfair.
Value:I bought this game for $25 through Amazon on Black Friday but I would absolutely pay the full $60 if it mean the team at Ubisoft continues making these gems. There is so much replay value too. The daily online challenges are a blast and the ability to play old Origins levels is icing on the cake (I haven't played long enough but I'm pretty sure almost the entire Origins game is included)
TIP: I usually have new players start off w/ the soccer mini game so they can learn the controls.
Okay, I wrote this earlier but I need to ask... Why do people like Origins better than legends?? Legends has the majority of origins in it, just for the hell of it. Plus, Legends doesn't have any frustrating ice levels.... god, I hate those ice levels lol
This is a great co-op game and a great sequel. It feels like it does everything better than the first from level design to new characters. The online challenges from Ubisoft's servers are a great idea. It feels real good to see your name scroll on the weekly winners for various cups. The inclusion of old levels from Rayman Origins, won from scratch off tickets, is great. There can be some frustrating levels for perfection seekers out there, but odds are if you want to pay for the frustration, you will find the fruition of your labor worth it.
In this instance, the seller got me the game well before Christmas and it was in great shape.
