Best headphones I've owned (so far)

Best headphones I've owned (so far)
This product was built really well. The leatherette headband with memory foam was accentuated with green thread. This headset was a bit uncomfortable at first, but after about 3 hours of continuous use, it was complete broken in. I will be sure to recommend this product to my friends. This item had a few jingling pieces located where the band connects to the cup, but that was solved with a couple pieces of paper in between. In conclusion, this product has held up really well so far, but it is still too early to tell. The mic quality is crystal clear and my friend commented on it asking whether I bought a "100 dollar mic". I will update this review if any issues or even good things arise Edit: Still staying strong! In fact, the sound quality seems to be getting slightly better!

This is the most comfortable computer headset I have ever worn! I've been using this headset for over 8 months now and it is without a doubt the best gaming purchase I have ever made. Razer went above and beyond with the design here, and similarities to military aviation headsets, such as those manufactured by David-Clark and Bose are evident here. The light weight, padded headband, deep ear cups and oversized padding on the ear seals ensure that this headset is the last thing you're going to notice after a 5 or 6 hour gaming session.

Before I got this headset, I was using a Creative Soundblaster Tactic3D Wireless Headset. While that headset itself was a phenominal headset in both construction and sound quality, my primary gripe with it is that there wasn't much padding on the ear cups, so the headset would be constantly pressing on my ears. Since I play EVE Online, it's not uncommon for us to have 4 or 5 hour long fleet fights where everyone needs to be on comms. After just a few hours, I would welcome any break just to take off that headset and get the pain off my ears.

The one thing that surprised me is the lack of branding on these. The only thing that identifies this as a Razer product is a tiny Razer logo on the headband adjustment knobs. I get a lot of people asking me what kind of headphones these are, given the resemblence to the David-Clark H10-76 headset that I use with my job as an avionics technician.

      Pros:
      - Very comforable
      - Solid construction
      - Fully adjustable
      - Good sound quality and bass response
      - Microphone can be quickly removed and installed

      Cons:
      - Still looking for something that actually qualifies as a solid con here...

      Other thoughts:
I use this headset with my phone to make Facebook Messenger calls with my wife while I'm deployed. Plugs right into my phone and laptop to enable full two-way communication without any issues. You'll need to use the included adapter to plug it into computers that have separate microphone and speaker jacks. Since the adapter isn't very long, you may want to consider getting a 3.5mm M-F extension cable or two depending on how you have your computer set up. I've noticed some buzzing in the headset when I have this plugged into my desktop, but this is due to how my audio and mic cables are routed in close proximity to power cables within my desktop case, not the headset itself. I don't get any of that same noise when I'm using it with my phone, laptop or other desktops.

pro: decent headset, feels strong. decent sound. mics alright.

con: for what i paid it didnt last very long. the system that the mic uses to detach from the headset wore out quickly.

overall. looks like a headset a helicopter pilot would wear, but its is overpriced for how long it lasts and is not at all something i would call amazing.

When I was looking for a new headset all my friends recommended, if not insisted, that I get the Razer Black Shark. They practically all have or had have this product in the past and had nothing good to say about it. So naturally, I had some high expectations going in. I cannot say that this headset lived up to all of my expectations.

To start off on a positive note, this headset is extremely durable. My cats like to pull my headset off my head fairly often and it's yet to break or sustain any damage. The headpiece is made of metal but it's not too heavy.

I would not recommend this to those who have a sensitive head. It took me awhile to adjust to wearing them, as they do pinch a little bit. Wearing them for prolonged periods of time also requires adjustment of the headset, as parts of my head can become sore from having them on. There was also a point sometime ago when I experienced some pain on my head from where I had my headset positioned. Definitely recommend taking the headset off sometimes during the day.

As far as the mic goes, I don't really have anything positive to say about it. The mic is very standard, there's nothing extraordinary about its quality. During calls my friends will sometimes comment on how my mic sounds like it's having a seizure and I will have to adjust the black plastic piece that moves the mic wire on the side of the headset to get it to stop. It happens quite frequently, but it's an easy fix. I also have not had any issues with mic quality in calls, but while recording I've definitely noticed that it's not fantastic. Would definitely not recommend this headset for anyone who is a streamer or doing recording of any kind.

The actual sound quality of the headset is pretty good, though I must note that I do NOT use Razer Synapse in combination with this product. That program can seriously mess up your computer. Don't bother with it. The headset can also be easily adjusted to allow the user to only have one ear on at a time, which can be very useful if you're listening to people in real life.

The headset wire is also rather obnoxious because it gets tangled up with anything and everything, though this goes for any rubber chord out there. Be prepared to untangle it pretty often.

      Pros:
-Sturdy, taken a lot of wear and tear and is still in good condition.
      -Sound quality is good
      -Not too heavy

      Cons:
      -Mic quality needs some improvements
      -Mic occasionally has seizures
-Those wearing this for longer periods of time may experience discomfort.
-Rubber wires get tangled up constantly

5.0 out of 5 stars Una excelente compra
Reviewed in Mexico on December 20, 2017

5.0 out of 5 stars These are great, but, like any headset, there will be things you would like to change.
Reviewed in Canada on February 16, 2015
These are Very good and I got them knowing the griefs that they are known for. I'll get the cons right out of the way. Now, while they are not exactly deal breakers for me, I do kind of think they could have improved these in some areas. First, is the lack of a volume control and chat mute on the cord, which itself is a little on the short side and not braided. Since I don't plan on walking away from my computer often, it's not really an issue as I'm still given a few feet to play with. Still, a volume control on the cord should be a standard thing these days. Next is the clips on the ear cups which purpose is to stop the ear cups from flipping inside out. I think these could have been a single piece or fixed to the arms tighter as the can annoy you because you hear them hit the arm when you move your head, and while not that loud, you do hear them clearly through the ear cups. Lastly, is the main mic boom swivel that connects the boom to the ear cups. The swivel on it could be a bit tighter because the mic boom can droop/ sag if you move your head, not consistantly, but it will, and i think it has something to do with too much weight on the boom and nothing to act as a counterweight. Negatives aside, these are great, and again, i bought them knowing the flaws i mentioned, (except for the boom swivel issue that no one reviewing it ever mentioned, so i had to find that out for myself). The sound is great and has superb bass levels and has the ability to have simulated surround using the synapse program. added to this is the excelent sound isolation. The mic is among the clearest I've heard. Lastly is the biggest feature, the style. Modeled after helicopter aviator headsets, these look sweet, and are the reason I got them . The boom is neat and adjusts at pivot points and is removable. All in, These are great, and I have no problem with them, and the gripes mentioned are more of small annoyances more than anything. I'd buy them again. Oh, and you can use them with your PS4 and XBOX one. I like this as i don't like having one ear obstructed with the mic and unable to get the full game sound experience. Also the xbox one headset sucks more so.
