Edit: Also, after a bit of use, I find myself accidentally hitting the DPI adjustment buttons more than is acceptable. They're right behind the scroll wheel, and very easy to push with the base of your middle finger when scrolling upward or just resting your hand on the mouse. Unexpectedly shifting DPI mid-movement will really throw you off.
I reviewed the comments for this same listing and found this to be a consistent issue. It is 100% hardware related, due to a 'fix' in firmware that was released by Razer for the issue on the Deathadder 2013. This firmware 'fix' resolved the double-click issue for the Deathadder 2013 version but is not available for newer Razer mice. Speaking to their support, and some online Razer forum research I found that this is due to a poorly designed mechanism in the newer mice themselves which do degrade over time. They confirmed that when this issue occurs on the Deathadder Elite/Chroma, etc. and is related to hardware.
Maybe I lost the 'mouse lottery' when purchasing the product, but for it to happen twice? Idk. I won't be purchasing any other Razer products and cannot recommend this mouse due to the re-occurring experience.
The other day the Razer id and the synapse software wasn't accepting my previous password for some reason unknown, and it was only solved by resetting password. Due to this, by entering the wrong password 3 times, I was banned from logging (20m) into a fresh installed synapse , leaving me no way to configure my mouse until the lock was lifted and a new password reconfigured. TBH, the log in system should be optional for users that want to use the cloud, but never mandatory as it is now, because it can lock you from setting up your own hardware.
I looked online and there is no work around for this. I will change my review when they add an "offline" mode.
You must install the Razer apps in order to configure the mouse. You must register to Razer's site and log on via the app. Sometimes, the app forgets your login for some reason (I assume after an update), and you have to log in again. But the updates are the real problem. There are many, many software updates. When there's a new update, every time you log in to your computer, even after waking it of sleep, the big neon green Razer Central screen jumps out at you to tell you that there are app updates. "Fine", you think, "I'll just disable auto updates"'. There's even an option to do so in the settings. The problem? It. Doesn't. Work. It will keep on pestering you every single time they release some update, which happens every week or two. And what's worse, every update requires a reboot. If you don't reboot? It will keep pestering you. Disable the Razer services? The big Razer logo on the mouse will glow a bright, neon green. I've seen discussions on the forums about what firewall ports to disable in order to prevent Razer's apps from phoning home, but that's really way more trouble than I'm willing to go through for a mouse.
Simply the worst experience with software I can remember in a very long time. The mouse itself is okay, but just not worth the hassle. I'm looking for something better - and NOT by Razer.
-The buttons fit my fingers well and allow my fingers to rest in the grooves
-Two buttons near my thumbs
-Grips on the scroll make it easier to use
-Up and down buttons on the mouse so I don't have to go into the program to use it
-Plugging in brings up the program to install it, rather than having to find the install on the website
-Chord is braided rather than rubber/plastic
-Nice matte finish, doesn't get slippery, fairly nice texture
-Thumb button placement makes it hard to reach the first button because of the size of my hand; seems clearly made for larger hands/men
-DPI buttons seem to be in an inconvenient spot; have accidentally bumped during gaming

Razer’s website has user-friendly software that you can download for free to customize any of the buttons on the mouse and adjust the increments for the DPI. I love this because the default DPI settings are either too sensitive or not enough, but with the software I was able to fine tune everything to my own liking. The optical sensors are great and thus far have not given me a single issue.
With the software I am also able to easily customize the colour scheme on the mouse, with various presets or solid colours to choose from.
I love that the left and right click buttons are curved to allow better control and faster clicking. The only downside to this mouse is that it is quite light at 105 g / 0.23 lbs.
- Curved left-right click buttons
- All buttons customizable
- DPI settings can be fine-tuned
- Easy to customize colour sceme
- Amazing optical sensors
- A little lightweight
- Thumb buttons aren’t as “grippy” as they could be

This is not me and i MUCH prefer the shape of Logitech gaming mouses (logitech pro wireless/logitech g305). This is also a very BIG AND HEAVY mouse. In 2019 130g+ is way too big and slow for gaming. And this mouse can feel heavy compared to other mice when playing games (especially shooters). The two mouse buttons are also a little awkward to use with your thumb, but not terrible at all.
If you have large hands/specifically like the unique shape of this mouse then it may be the best one on the market as it performs well. But for the vast amount of other people I'd highly recommend something else.
