Before trying this, I bought a Blue Snowball Omnidirectional/Cardioid USB Microphone - White , but found the driver support (even on a plug-and-play Mac) to be hit-and-miss. Using SnagIt for screen capture, for example, would sometimes freeze the software after hitting 'stop' -- a particularly annoying trait after recording a 45 minute video, and realising the sound driver had crashed it into oblivion. It was definitely the mic, too... using the internal mic or recording without sound never reproduced the same issue, so I gave up and bought the Razer Seiren.
Quality-wise, this is very much in the same league as the Blueball. It's not 'studio' quality, but it produces a fairly even recording that tends to knock out background sound pretty well. The reason I've rated it 4* and not 5, is because it didn't fair so well when used in my relatively echoey home-office. To be perfectly honest, it didn't even sound as good as the internal Macbook mic... my voice sounded quite hollow and distant. This is a shame because I was expecting a pretty decent quality bump vs. the built-in mic... and felt the difference didn't quite warrant the £90+ investment for my own use.
I've included a clip of sound, as well as a few pics to show an unboxing. It's a very neat package, and the mic stands nicely on my desk.
Overall, I'd recommend this mic for home gaming/office used, especially in well-padded rooms with reduced echo. It's definitely not studio-quality, but should be sufficient for streaming and non-commercial broadcast use.

Schokoladenfingerabdrücke in der Gebrauchsanleitung! IGITT!
The first and biggest issue is that every single one of my friends and random players in game complained the voice came through muffled. That seemed weird to me because my stream recordings and audacity seemed to present a pretty good sound. I never got to hear it from my friends perspective, but the complaints were consistent.
Secondly, I use a Rode PSA1 boom arm, this mic is WAY too light for this arm! I had to manufacture a brace myself to stop the mic from launcing through my ceiling like a firework. The mic is made of plastic, hardly weighs anything, so if you intend to use a boom arm make sure it's not heavily reliant on weight to keep it down.
I just can't recommend this as a standalone microphone to anyone. I wanted to like, I really did, but for gaming and streaming there are just too many good alternatives.
I have just started streaming gameplay and thought I'd get this microphone to make my stream a little better quality.
This product is totally plug and play and will not be recognised by Synapse. Out of the box the sound quality is pretty good when your mouth is close to the mic (2-6 inches).
However, Razer advertise that this product has a "built in shock mount" and uses a Supercardiod polar pattern.
I can honestly say this mic pics up everything and I really don't think Razer invested a lot of money in the two advertised features above because they don't seem to work very well at cutting out unwanted noise.
I have a mecha-membrane keyboard which has a relatively loud click (not as loud as a full mechanical keyboard) and it's easily heard in the background when I'm playing a game.
For recording voiceovers and commentary, out of the box this mic will be perfect, but if you plan on using this mic to stream then you will absolutely need to do the following as the included desk mount will just pick up every god damn noise:
-Buy a boom arm/scissor arm to mount the mic
-Buy a pop filter
-Buy a shock mount if your boom/scissor arm does not come with one
-position the microphone close to your mouth
-add filters in OBS (Noise Gate, Noise Limiter, Noise Suppression etc)
After all of this my mic sounds great while streaming.
TL:DR - Buy this mic if you want an aesthetically pleasing microphone for recording voiceovers or commentary.
I wouldn't recommend it for streaming as it picks up a lot of background noise and requires a lot of accessories / post processing in software to sound good while streaming. Go with a dynamic USB mic like the ATR2100 instead
