Not built to last....

I thought this mouse was fantastic when I first bought it. 12 thumb buttons can be tripled or even quadrupled if you hold Shift, Alt,or both. Since May of 2016, this has been my best friend playing FFXIV and even some WoW.

However, fast forward to March 2018, the optical laser fails. The thumb buttons still work, however the mouse cursor does one of two things: It either jumps around the screen uncontrollably, or it's downright dead and doesn't respond to hand movement.

I checked Razer Synapse and it says that my product is still under warranty, so I sent a message to support documenting the problems I currently am having with my mouse. That was 3 days ago now.

Until my problem with the mouse is addressed, I can't in good conscience recommend this product to anyone; and as it stands, I'll be hard pressed to buy another Razer product in the future.

The Razer Naga Epic Chroma is hands down the best mouse I've ever purchased. This mouse is pretty big, and I like that. I have big hands, and they rest very comfortably on it. It's also heavier than normal, but I like a heavy mouse. The 12 buttons on the side are perfectly placed for my thumb. The design is great, and the Chroma lighting is awesome. My only complaint about the lighting is that the Razer logo at the back end of the mouse doesn't light up. I also wish I could put the Wave setting on it to match my Blackwidow Chroma and my Firefly pad.

I really like the hybrid wired/wireless feature. You can plug the USB cord into the mouse for wired, or plug the USB cord into the included charging base for wireless. The mouse has a built-in battery for wireless, so you don't have to worry about buying batteries. I prefer wired mice, but sometimes I like to recline in my chair and watch stuff on my computer, and this mouse lets me do that without having to pull my wired mouse within reach or switch to a wireless mouse. This mouse allows me to do both whenever I want.

I've seen reviews that complain about mouse lag after a few months of usage. I'll update my review if that happens to me.

Overall, this mouse is fantastic! I've always wanted a mouse with a bunch of buttons on the side, and I'm glad this one was my first purchase. I'd recommend this mouse to anyone.

I've had this mouse for about a year. When I initially got my mouse I thought it was pretty good, it had this cursor skipping problem but It didn't happen all that frequently and the extra buttons gave me an edge when I played games so i fought through it. Now however the mouse barely functions at all, the cursor locks up, skips around or the mouse will randomly left/right click when i don't want it to. I've used this on three different computers and it's had these problems on all of them. So it's either an issue with synapse or with the mouse itself. In any case, i'm never buying another razer product again, this mouse is just not functional anymore. A $100 mouse (when i bought it) should not have the issues this thing has and it definitely shouldn't crap out after 1 year.

Pros:
Awesome lighting.
No problem with razer synapse.
Mouse weight is amazing.
Very light pressure to click, yet not too light as to ruin the mouse.
Tilting scroll wheel.
Customize every button to your liking. (personally set a preset to have all buttons as left click BEAT THAT COOKIE CLICKER)
Ergonomic finger grip.
Works with a claw grip.
Excellent battery life.
Material has a nice texture.
Buttons excellent for WoW (shaman macros OP)

Cons:
Takes a little while after starting up my computer to register the mouse. This has been said by most and I don't really think its bad.
The mouse will attract sweat and fingerprints like a magnet. However the material makes them disappear in a minute or two.
Does not save presets. You will have to set it to one and like that one if you are going anywhere without synapse.
If you set the lighting off on either wired or wireless the lights will be off for both.
Does not charge as fast as I would have hoped it would
Macs think the charger is a keyboard (LOL)
The fact you have not bought one yet.

Great mouse for gaming addicts

I have a problem. A gaming problem and I am female. Most of these are made for huge man hands. The program is easy to configure and smarter than I am. Keybindings macros etc. I rarely use over 6 side buttons because it gets confusing. I use this currently for ESO and it works great. I had the previous version of this and the wireless quickly died and then the battery. Not this one - wireless works great. It feels like it dies a lot, but I play until I kill it so - that variable effects it. The little dock is compact and the plugins are cleverly configured as Razer always does. Packaging is always very nice, but really who cares after you unbox it. No complaints other than size. I am a female with larger hands and it fits me but I would think someone with small hands would have troubles. I even got the matching mouse pad which was overpriced. Why you ask? Because reasons..that's why. Razer is a bit overpriced for my liking but I cant get around the quality of their mice, mouses, meese, whatever.

I was a little hesitant to buy this mouse due to the small side buttons, as I have larger hands. However, after a few hours of gaming I became use to them.

On a full charge I was able to game from dusk till dawn before the battery started to die. At that point one can plug in the charge cable and keep going.

The charging dock has some heft to it, so it's not easy to knock over. It also has a sticky pad on the bottom, but I find it stays put fairly well without needing to be glued down.

The synapse software was intimidating at first, you can macro just about anything you can think of on this mouse. The software can be annoying at times, I had to reinstall it recently because the mouse wouldn't recognize and load my profile.

The mouse itself is constructed well, feels great in the hand and moves wonderfully on a new mouse pad. The only real issue I had was accidentally knocking it off the pad and into the wall, it was completely fine to my relief.

I highly recommend this mouse for MMO gaming, but I don't see why it wouldn't also work for FPS and general computing.. If you don't mind paying a little more.

Still breaking it in. Use it for world of warcraft. Smooth movements (using razer vespula mousepad). Satisfying click sound from thumb buttons.

Still not a fan of the two buttons behind the scroll wheel, miss the easy fingertip access of the old model (blue light).

The Feel
If you've used a Razer mouse in the past, it'll feel familiar. Good grip, easy clicks and a great mouse wheel. The charging dock is hefty which is nice. It doesn't budge when you put the mouse in and out.

The Colors
Great. Really like the the Spectrum Cycling and it's definitely making me consider getting a Chroma keyboard. A nice setting that I wasn't expecting was brightness for wired vs wireless mode. I can have it set to Bright for wired mode and Dim for wireless mode.

Battery
Still getting use to it so I can't comment on that. I'll try to update this later when I've used it for longer.

This mouse has been amazing, love its buttons and the ability to custom set up different user profiles in the Razer software. The only problem I have with it is the odd freaks it has from time to time. For example, the mouse will jump on the screen sometimes. I don't know if it is because of low battery. To fix the issue I have moved the dock away from any routers and sometimes I do plug it in. The issue is not persistence enough to bug me but for the price I paid it does make me question Razer products.
