Love the fact that you can switch out the sides from finger rests to grips and the back-end raise and lower is great for finding that perfect fit in your palm for fast movement without the mouse jiggling in your hand or it being too high for all your fingers to find the mat on both sides for precision aiming.
Definitely one of the best Razer mice I've tried so far. I recommend this to anyone that's a hardcore gamer or just has some serious work to do. It's comfortable, accurate and easy to set up.
The actual product is complete trash, at least the one I got.
On day 1, the two cosmetic "vent"-looking things on the front under the main mouse buttons fell off. They are held on with cheap glue.
Wireless mode on this device is inconsistent and buggy. There is sometimes noticeable input delay, and sometimes there isn't.
Whether you use it with a wire or not, my Ouroboros somewhat commonly will lock itself to a small segment, so that my pointer on my screen cannot move anywhere except for within a thin diagonal line. This is a hardware problem with the sensor. I eventually figured out that hitting my desk with the mouse reliably fixes it temporarily.
The battery that came with this product died within the week. Extra batteries had to be bought. This mouse drains a standard Duracell AA battery in less than 24 hours of use.
Razer Synapse, the customization and driver program for this device, is a buggy trainwreck. Almost nothing works reliably on this program at all. Updating the program renders my computer unusable (the mouse cannot click anything) until I force restart it.
Turning on my computer or uninstalling Razer Synapse causes my mouse to default to an arbitrary 100 DPI, and then to 5600 DPI once I restart my computer. These are unusable sensitivities with my Windows settings.
The battery gauge on the top of the device is extremely inconsistent. It will go from critical battery to low to medium, or more commonly just from maximum to critical.
While playing a first-person game like Overwatch, my mouse randomly will trail off the game onto one of my secondary monitors, which tabs me out.
Minecraft specifically is unplayable with this mouse, as in-game, my sensitivity will constantly and violently fluctuate for no discernable reason.
In wired mode, the mouse will disconnect completely from my computer at random. Sometimes this happens about once every 10 seconds, and each time, it takes about 3 seconds for it to reconnect, sometimes opening Razer Synapse and tabbing me out of my game.
I put the mouse on the stand to charge overnight because wired mode is glitchier than wireless mode. Sometimes, it simply doesn't charge.
This mouse crashes some sort of firmware on my computer sometimes, which sends my computer into a frozen, beeping fit, crashing my display drivers and forcing me to restart my computer.
There are more issues that happen all the time, but I won't put them all here. These are the most common issues, you get the point.
At the time of writing this review, I have been somehow using this mouse for 8.5 months. I give it 2/5 stars because one of my friends has the same mouse with few problems (he doesn't game that much though, and he only uses it in wired mode).
--Nicely adjustable (total length, angle of palm rest, different wing button caps, etc)
--Never a problem with the buttons
--Came in a gorgeous presentation box
--Reliable movement, especially when used on a textured surface
--Nice color. Green is the color of magic! (can you guess the 1980s reference?)
--Takes a larger AA battery; better for battery life
--Lots of buttons
--Good configurability with the included application
--Can be used in wired mode
--Looks elegant in its remote cradle
--Has nice charging indicator lights
--The presentation box would have been better had it included a padded travel case for all three major components (mouse, charging stand, and cable). It would actually make for a good full-sized travel mouse, but I can't fly with this because there's no way to protect it from bumps and scratches.
--Seems to kill rechargeable batteries over time, eventually necessitating that you mortgage the house to buy more batteries or just give up and use it wired
--Too easy to accidentally change the movement density. I suggest you reprogram those top two buttons.
--The black "wing" buttons on either side of the mouse are hard to deploy without accidentally deploying both. User will either deactivate these or will need to change his/her hand position when using these buttons.
--Requires a tiny tiny screwdriver to change the battery (comes with one, but who can keep track of these small parts?)
--Doesn't have an "off" button for saving battery charge while travelling or when not using
At this writing, I've had this mouse for 2 years. I'll keep using it until something better comes along, but right now I'd give it only a 60% rating, hence the 3-star review. I would not recommend it to friends, unless they had completely exhausted their research on other models/manufacturers.
