Why is the device great you ask?
Let me start with the cord. The cord is a woven nylon not just some wires wrapped in rubber. If this mouse ever breaks I can cut this cord off and tie down a Christmas tree to my truck, use it as a shoelace, or any other things you would do with a rope. When unpacked from the box the cord once stretched out was not all kinked up.
The buttons. They press easy and response is good with a fast return. The right and left are well separated so you won't hit one accidently. The back and forward buttons are well placed and also have a good response and feel.
The scroll wheel. The wheel moves well and has a good resistance to it enough that you don't go flying down the webpage accidently but not so much that you can go flying down the webpage if you want to with ease. The wheel click is not hard like other mice and yet again not so light that your clicking on it when you don't want to.
The lighting. This is the coolest thing of all. You can program the mouse lighting to display any of the 32 million colors with ease, you can also turn off the lighting. This particular device the StarCraft 2 mouse has 3 lighting zones and you can change each to a different color.
Pros: Personal color themes, Custom drivers for in-game Starcraft 2, Kinda has a blocky feel which surprisingly fits into the hand after getting used to it, Satisfying clicking sound when selecting something, Starcraft 2 theme.
Cons: The mouse is TOO LIGHT (Being someone who is used to resting their weight near the back of the mouse I naturally did it within my first hours of using this new mouse but quickly found out that do to the sheer weight of the mouse itself, it will kinda tilt the front of the mouse up off the mousepad and cause the lazor to flip out and send your mouse across the screen, I have since started holding my arm up [semi-uncomfortably] and have solved the issue, another way to fix it is to install weights into the mouse yourself but you shouldn't be forced to do that.), The color it came in was gray on the top where your palm would rest and fingers click while the rest was black like the image (Not major but false advertising), the Starcraft 2 logo and the small little beads (3 on either side) will light up the same color while the one on the bottom of the mouse (The apm regulator light) will always be a slight tint higher even if you choose all the same colors which means you will never have the mouse look the exact same on all lights, The mouse feels cheap as hell and the "blocky" design feels like it cuts into your fingers and hand while holding it which forces you to hold it akwardly (You get used to it in time but it seems ridiculous).
Note: You can pick from a LARGE range of colors for the leds, and they're divided in 3 groups:
- The StarCraft logo
- The side leds
- The botom led
The lighting is very exciting although consider you won't be able to see it much in a room with too much light. The versatility for the configuration of it, it's great.
Great hardware in my opinion, for starcraft and non starcraft fans
