The dual-sided Razer Vespula gaming mouse mat provides two distinct performance surfaces — SPEED for mad fragging action for high-sensitivity gamers; and CONTROL for ultra-precise movements for low-sensitivity gamers — on a non-slip, anti-reflective and abrasion-resistant hard coat. With its unique shape and the soft gel-filled wrist rest, the Razer Vespula provides comfort and perfect tracking for any gamer.
Dual-sided mouse mat for your individual needs
Whether you prefer to gun down your enemies with the increased glide of the SPEED surface or with ultimate precision from the CONTROL surface, the Razer Vespula offers the right surface that suits your playing style.
Razer mouse mats that are Speed-type are incredibly smooth and flat, so it feels like your mouse is slipping quickly across the entire surface with zero hindrance. Speed-type mats suit gamers who need to hit targets faster and more efficiently.
Enhanced tracking surfaces validated by professional gamers
The Razer Vespula’s dual surfaces have been developed for enhanced tracking by the same scientists at Razer that have invented the most precise gaming mice in the world today. Professional gamers have also put the Razer Vespula through thousands of hours of intense gameplay to validate the tracking surfaces for tournament play.
Razer mouse mats that are Control-type have rough surfaces to create a sensation of resistance to your mouse movements. This is important as the friction of the textured surface offsets the energy you exert to move the mouse, ensuring precise minute movements. Control-type mats suit gamers who need absolute precision to hit targets exactly where they need to.
Memory conformance wrist rest
The soft gel-filled wrist rest protects your wrist from injury and fatigue, allowing you to enjoy longer gaming sessions like never before.
Razer Synapse enabled
Razer Synapse is the cutting-edge proprietary software that allows you to perfectly calibrate your mouse and mouse mat. The Surface Calibration feature ensures the mouse will learn the specific surface’s texture, color, and distance from sensor ensuring even quicker and more precise in-game responses.
Top Customer Reviews
-No more grease/oil from skin rubbing off onto the mouse pad which seems to be a problem with metal pads.
-Choice between 2 different surfaces.
-Stays in place with or without the rubber mat.
-No noise at all under normal use. Even during fast movement, the sound is negligible.
-Made of plastic which can break easily but I don't plan on moving my mouse pad around too often as my LAN party days are over :P.
Works alright as a mouse pad, though the friction feet pads leave quite a lot to be desired (unless if free floating is your thing).
Go spent a little more to find something with significantly higher quality.
The only time this mouse pad is worth buying is if you hardly ever use your computer, and if that were the case, you shouldn't be buying a $30 mouse pad.
Each side of it is pretty nice, and can easily be flipped over depending on your current application. Honestly though I can't really feel much of a performance difference between the two sides. There is a very distinct texture difference, but using either side made no difference to me. I suppose it's completely subjective at that point.
The wrist rest is pretty comfortable, and seems to be pretty durable. If well maintained, I can definitely see it lasting multiple years.
I will admit, after not using a wrist rest for several years now, it is going to take some getting used to, but already I can feel the relief it is providing to my wrists after extended periods of gaming and rendering on CAM software.
One of the things I really do find quite clever about this mouse pad is that on the corners of each side there are slim rubber feet so if a wrist rest isn't your forte, or you have worn the rest beyond use, the pad will still be completely functional. The feet also provide a slight amount of clearance so that if you aren't using the wrist rest, the surfaces of the pad wont be damaged by sliding around on the desk.
There is only once issue to speak of as far as my opinion goes. It does feel a bit too wide, and not quite long enough, leaving the user without much room to adjust their wrist position forward or backward on the pad. The only reason I mention this is because after 3+ hours of use, you might want to readjust and get a little more comfortable.
TL;DR - This is a great mouse pad. If you're willing to spend over $20 for one, this is a great option. The manufacturing quality is excellent, and it will last a long time if taken care of.
It's not too small for gamers or anyone! I had a mouse pad half this size with an old ibm optical mouse before and that worked just fine for me. This plus my new mouse beats that by 100x... at least.
-don't understand why people may say it's too small. most true gamers use high sensitivity
-love both sides, prefer the smooth side though
-comfortable wrist rest
-stays still under heavy use
-seems pretty durable. I've brought it around with my laptop, power adapter, multiple mice, etc. not one scratch
-able to be used sufficiently without the wrist rest
-none that i can think of!
