Cons: I must have received the newer version- handlebar height does not adjust (not too big of a deal at 5'5", but if you are really short or really tall it might matter). But even worse, the handlebar no longer folds down (they really need to update the picture which is misleading). I bought this for a short commute from beach parking to work which involves putting it in my car. I have a compact hatchback and while it is heavy, I could lift it in there without issue if the handlebar folded down. Unfortunately, since it does not fold, it is super awkward due to the weight and trying to wedge it in the trunk sideways. It is so much effort it may not be worth transporting it as I originally intended. They should at least offer a retrofit folding mechanism you can buy extra that would replace the current connector (I am not pulling out the Allen wrench every day to disconnect and reconnect the handlebars). If anyone handy out there has any ideas how to do this please post!!!
Additional suggestion would be to have some sort of welded metal loop so you could easily lock it to a bike rack if running a quick errand.
Long story short, if none of the above applies to you and you are just buying it for fun (and the smoother ride with the fatter tires that are also higher off the ground), you'll be pretty happy!
Goes very fast. He loves it. Always make him wear his helmet.
It would be nice if it had a battery level indicator, but for the price I guess that would be a luxury item. It moves right along and we haven't yet clocked the speed, but it seems to reach a quick pace. Our son uses this to commute to work 2.5 miles (one way). He can store it in the employee bike storage area and it has worked well for him.
We also put a bike light kit on it (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FZ5H124/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_11) and we really like it. A strong piece of Velcro can be used to secure the tail light to the back of the scooter. Makes for a nice little electric commuting vehicle!
