Fave earbuds were Phillips Fidelio X2 but cord is going so bought these. These have less distortion would be my guess - they just sound more detailed and clear.
These are the best earbuds I've heard. Very similar to the HE-400i. Sparkly. Slightly u-shaped, maybe. Sounds very natural. Love them! Surprised that the bass is this good from one tiny little driver.
I have a few headphone amps but was surprised to find they get plenty loud straight from my iPhone X.
Less fatiguing than ATH CKR9, clearer than YAMAHA EPH100, and overall transitioning smoother than SONY N3AP (yep, i dislike the treble generated by the armatures in N3AP a lot).
(And BTW the silicon carrying case that comes with those feels SUPER good.)
I've owned it for less than one month with casual use, but about 5% of the time, the right earbud would randomly cut off all sounds for a few seconds. Can't tell if it's a wire or driver issue as I haven't tried replacing the wire yet.
The other 95% of the time, the sound quality is great. Very neutral and has a decent soundstage. I find its soundstage to be not as good as my kz-as10, but it is leaps and bounds better than something like a 1moretripple driver.
Buy it for its comfort level, especially if you have small ears like me. For its price tag, the sound quality is up there. They beat out all the $100 ranged earbuds I've ever owned. I find them perfect for commuting in NYC and everyday use.
Some more things to note :
- The wires make alot of noise, but u can always use the hook they give or just switch them out since it's detachable (or go wireless Google it).
- Turn up the volume since they aren't incredibly loud.
- It's Suuuper lightweight.
- Minimal sound leakage. I can listen to Britney aggressivly yelling at me to "Work B*tch" as I'm dying studying in the library just fine.
Some say vocals are lush, but they sound recessed on mine. Bass can sound muddy at high volumes.
Pro tip: These are kinda open so if you want a more isolated/closed sound just switch the tips to literally anything else. It should seal the iem slightly near the tip.

The best thing I can say when listening to these is it makes me get lost in the music. They have a unique sound which may take a few songs to get used to and you may feel they aren't detailed enough in the more revealing analytical way some earphones of this price could be (or should be). BUT the detail is there... and then some. What these earphones do though is make you appreciate the song and the artist. You'll hear your favs in a different light, you'll hear nuances and emotions that you felt only when you first heard the track.
I love Queen, I know every song well after 25 years of loving the band and songs. The e4000 had me playing entire albums again start to finish. I rarely do that, I mainly go by a mixed playlist. It was a treat hearing songs like i was hearing them again for the first time.
Bass -Strong and deep, well behaved.
Mids - VERY natural sounding and organic.
Vocals -Up front and silky
Treble - Can be sparkly when needed, never fatiguing or sharp. Good detail.
I love these. I have over 90 IEMS/Headphones, it's a hobby. These are up there with sets like the Dunu DN2000, another IEM that lets you get lost in the music. They're over £200. The Dunu was another set that I irst had to get used to thinking I had paid too much, but then when you actually LISTEN to them you realise how good they are.
Again, my only criticism is the cable length. It's a quality cable though. I've tried custom ones and cables from other earphones but they take away that unique smooth sound.
I must admit though I prefer them at home. There is some outside noise coming thru when walking around but the music still comes thru clearly. These aren't for sports either, they will fall out unless you use the hooks but I don't like them your ear (that's just me tho)
They are also not so efficient it seems. Out of a phone straight, there's nowhere near enough volume. A DAC or bluetooth amp makes all the difference.
On the other hand the price is a little steep but it's worth it if you want delicious warm audio. The treble could be a bit sharper/more upfront as well but it's fine. These IEMs also aren't quite as loud as my older prepackaged iPhone earphones. Overall though it's a very good product and I'm happy to recommend it.
