I feel there is a drive in this culture to conform to others’ expectations, to stifle one’s voice for fear of standing out as odd. The tendency to bully those who don’t conform is prominent. Georgakas offers ways for people to nurture the courage to stand in their truth by examining their life purpose and manifesting their dreams.
The drive to conform is particularly true in families if the parents expect their children to be exactly like them and align to their social, political, and religious ways. I come from a large family, and honestly, everyone of us is a unique soul. It’s impossible to live as someone else’s light. Still how often do we hear of parents expecting their children to put aside their true desires to fit into what the parents dream for their children? In public, children nave to navigate social expectations to conform and fit in. How can we separate from parental and social expectations? How can we become who we want to be? And actually who we are? How can we ‘come out’ and be our own story? How can we shine our own light?
Georgakas describes seven ways we can manifest our soul truth and thus our goals.
Step 1: Finding The True You
Step 2: Finding Your Purpose
Step 3: Finding Your Want and Why
Step 4: Plan of Action— Attainable Steps
Step 5: Loving Yourself
Step 6: Processing Feelings
Step 7: Falling off the Wagon, Burnout & Support
Within each step, Georgakas shares her own experience. The best teachers are the most vulnerable. Her memories reveal how she herself came into her being. It isn’t easy to reveal personal trauma in order to transform it into a new dream. If she can do this, so can we. She provides questions for self reflection in each step. If readers journal earnestly, no doubt there will be many deep discoveries. After all, one finds her voice by using it.
Each chapter is written with enthusiasm. Georgakas is a cheerleader for those who are down, shy, and retreating. She can pull them out of their doldrums quickly. Her tone is uplifting and reassuring throughout the process of self-discovery. She is with us all the way, cheering us on.
One of my favorite parts of the book is her recommendations to use affirmations, which have the best effects when spoken. Words and thoughts have vibrations. If we repeat positive thoughts as opposed to falling victim to replays of negative thinking, we will change our thinking and outlook about ourselves and life. Showing gratitude, Georgakas says, is an essential practice. I agree. Once I began a daily gratitude practice, more good things magically came into my life. New connections, new opportunities, and profound love and respect for self and others and from others in return.
And Step 5, Loving Yourself, also hit home for me because I practice Loving Kindness, which has taught me how love for myself fills my cup with love for others. I notice today how depleted we are because we give so much of ourselves without any regard for self-care. Let’s face it. This life is full of stress and trauma. Unless we can find ways to center in our authentic self, we will be tossed about by the turmoil. Self-care, Georgakas teaches, is grounding.
Georgakas is a qualified teacher. As her preface shows, she is a Health and Wellness Coach certified by Chérie Carter Scott. Georgakas is a teacher of Yoga, Qigong, and Tai Chi and has training in Therapeutic Recreation. All of these modalities played a role in her own healing, so she is dedicated to helping others to heal, center in their authentic self, and thus manifest their dreams with the skills she has mastered.
Georgakas is also a poet. The sections end with a haiku. Health and wellness research shows that poetry serves a healer. At the end of the book, this haiku helps us reflects on the strength of self-acceptance. Maybe those of us who work thorough the steps in this book can emerge as wounded healers.
Torrential downpour
floodgates burst enabling
healing waters flow
In these uncertain times, we could use guidance, support, a way to center in our being. This book offers readers tools to converse with our authentic self and manifest our soul’s purpose with grace and ease. This process asks us to open up to our vulnerability, as Georgakas does when she shares her life traumas and journey. Her teachings are born out of her own need to find her way and embody her authentic self. She comes to us as a wounded healer, the best teacher to have.

Georgakas shares her suggestions and knowledge drawn from her experience of being a life coach, and the language she uses is down to earth. She is not shy when it comes to showing her vulnerability. She is simply like you and me, trying to live life to its fullest. The book is organized into 7 Steps To Turn Your Dreams Into Reality, and she ends each chapter with a powerful haiku. Here is a sample…
stay grounded in self
listen with all your senses
open to insight
Georgakas nudges you into delving deep within your soul to discover your true essence, and then to unearth your true purpose. We all know how powerful negative thoughts can be, and how easily they can push us in the wrong direction. As Georgakas says, “…we can’t let the mind take over, since it is designed to overanalyze and judge everything we do.”
As I’m not in my thirties or forties anymore, this quote rang true, “Every age and stage offers new insights and opportunities to adapt and change; we have never been at this place in our lives before, so it’s important to pause and ask, “Who am I now, and what is my purpose?”
Another question to ponder is, “What life is worth living that is not worth questioning?” And this line stood out, “We have a choice to either paint rainbows or black clouds on our blank canvas.” Georgakas sprinkles many nuggets of wisdom from start to finish, so this compilation of encouragement is a great reminder that can be referred to over and over again.
Re-Create & Celebrate is an empowering book to reiterate how crucial self-love is, how to realize our goals and achieve them, and to enhance personal growth. Highly recommended for all who are still seeking those awaited answers!

I personally felt like the author was talking to me. In fact, each time a question popped in my head, the next paragraph seemed to have the answer. It was as if Cindy Georgakas was listening. This happens when the author has knowledge of what she’s talking about- not the theoretical kind but one that comes with experience. Cindy Georgakas tells you how to create a better life by sharing her journey. Her honesty is refreshing, her writing style shows she cares, and it’s not just a book for her. She tells you that while she has written the book, she is not perfect.
In the book, Cindy says, ‘The mind doesn’t care if it’s getting negative or positive attention, as long as it’s getting attention, so take note. It is cunning and ruthless. This is all the more reason to emphasize positive attention in order to drown out the negative.’
This book is for everybody, no matter their age, gender or wisdom. It’s a book full of essential reminders that you can keep at your desk at work, on your bedside table or any other place where you are bound to look at it. This book is worth investing in.
Are you a chameleon who morphs into whomever someone wants you to be and gives a false sense of bravado, too? Read this book.
Do you have a fiery desire to help the world to heal—to save the world, too? Read this book first.
Do you wish to see how powerful words are!? Read these words.
Re-Create & Celebrate: 7 Steps to turn your Dreams into Reality by Cindy Georgakas will help you uncover hidden gifts that will turn you into the best version of yourself. It will teach you that first, you must learn to save yourself.
And then go from there, knowing that we can only save ourselves— and this says a lot!
"We take a pill for everything these days and hope it will take away all of our troubles, so we can be worry-free," says Georgakas. So true. This book will empower you, not with a magic pill but with the realization, once and for all, that you already possess the tools to do that. You are the magic! And you are worthy of this.
The words in this newly launched book will be the shift in perspective you need. By intentionally "Looking for articles that make you smile and lift your spirit." I embrace this practice wholeheartedly because I know the power of words.
(all quotes are from the book)
"The teacher always arrives when the student is ready." Another truth! And the teacher as of today is Author Cindy Georgakas.
"I have moved from the depths of despair to a life of gratitude and faith," says Author Georgakas, and in her soothing tone and with personal stories, she will help you uncover your hidden gifts.
The Author's intention is at the forefront of her exposition: she presents you with "a blueprint to create your inner world the way you want it: much the same way an architect does when designing the house plans for you to build your dream home."
And this 'architect' keeps us in the present moment when she presents us with a haiku at the end of each chapter to cement new concepts and open inroads to our own internal wisdom. After all, this Author is an accomplished poet in her own right.
"There is no secret," she says: "wake up with gratitude in your heart." Oh yes, ma'am. And she gives us instructions on how to 'learn' to discern what hides in our hearts as gratitude—all the time listing for us her own gems.
In other words, "listening to the small, intuitive messages that come from within, and acting on them, rather than listening to what other people want from you in order to try and work out what you "should" do."
"The answers are inside of you, and always have been, and the magic happens when you heed the call to put yourself front and center in your life."
"Let this book be your springboard and your guide."
This is my favorite quote in the book: "To be clear, purpose is not a goal or an objective, but the guiding force that leads us toward a life of true fulfillment. It is what gives us the fire in our bellies, much the same way that a car needs a battery pack to run."
And indeed, we all know that a car battery needs to be "recharged."
And she offers more insight on purpose, touching on what to do when we veer off track, leading us one step at a time.
This book is more of a guided workbook with vulnerable examples from the Author and loaded with encouragement so that you, too, can "put Humpty Dumpty back together again."
"Don't skip over this part of the work because it is the basic framework from which all of your future progress will derive," she encourages.
Ultimately, her guidance will impress upon you to help you "Transform into a human doing rather than a human being in no time at all."
I'm over the moon happy to get the word out on this one so fast.
