My wife recently injured her back (crushed a disk pretty bad), and she asked me to buy one of these for her. I did about 15 minutes of research and found this well-reviewed one. Honestly I ordered it thinking it was more of a toy than anything, and I was definitely surprised with how helpful it has been. She's able to nearly function almost normally with the help of this thing. I really didn't expect it to be able to pick up a full soda can.

Purchased for hubby who is a hemiplegic from major stroke. I chose this specific grabber because of the rubber tips. Rubber can grab on to objects and hold fast because of the friction of rubber...better than other materials. The suction is also about the size of a quarter, which helps, although larger would be better. The only reason for the 4 stars vs 5 is because of a weakened area due to the design material.
There is a screw that attaches the rubber disk to the grabber tip. The inside of the rubber disk is plastic that is drilled for the screw to go into in order to tighten.
Unfortunately, the grabber will be dropped, and eventually the plastic inside of the rubber disk will split, and the screw will not be able to hold it's tightness or integrity...so it loosens and you may have to hunt for the disk and screw.
But when it is working, it does well and worth the purchase!

This Reacher/Grabber is excellent. Sturdy handle with smooth trigger action. The suction cups allow you to pick up a variety of things from small to big. Amazing how much weight this reacher/grabber allows you to grasp and pick up. I have another reacher/grabber that came in a shoulder/hip kit. I thought it was cool until I received this model by VIVE Health. This reacher is longer than my previous, a lot easier to use, can pick up more things and as mentioned before is a lot sturdier. I'm really glad I found and purchased this. It makes my life easier and that's exactly what I was looking for.

Hello, since this item is a #1 best seller, I was hesitant about writing a 3 star review; But, decided to anyway(a very short one).
This tool is well made in my opinion. I am still sending it back for a refund. The reason is that it has very little gripping power compared to others I have used(and there is nothing you can do to change it). I am glad others have been satisfied with it.

It works ok, but doesn't have a locking position to hold something in place. Doesn't fold for storage either. No worth the extra money over the one I usually get. I thought this one would be stronger and tougher, but not. It is slightly longer, but not really that helpful for the difference in price.

I've been with my grandma for 7 years, and I noticed she has grabbers of the As Seen On TV kind with the fold in the middle. And then I noticed she had taped up the fold because the grabber broke on her (in the middle). I went ahead and got 2 new replacements, and she noticed that no only the flexible middle fold is not present, but the handle / grip is smaller, EASIER on her hands. She does say the suction takes a little getting used to, but again -- she's had her old grabbers for quite a while, so it was anticipated. If you don't need the compact mechanism in these grabbers, this is a very good grabber. I'm curious about the shaft being the same material as the folding grabbers, though - I would have wanted stronger material.

I have arthritis in my hands and I was unable to operate the handle on all the reachers in the store. This one is really easy to operate. I got one for the kitchen where I'm always dropping vitamins and then another for my office. Now I'm realizing I need one for my bathroom. So glad I have Prime free shipping.
Only caveat is they sent it via Ontrac who leaves it down the road at the street sign instead of coming to my house. Luckily a neighbor found both shipments.

My Grabber arrived with a dent on one side, mid shaft. I do find it a little difficult to release the item that is the width of the grabber suction pads. An example is the container of International Coffee. The width of that container is as far as the grabber will go. Otherwise, I think it will serve my needs.

Senior citizen relative loves it!!!
Has conquered a health problem but still a bit stiff at times when bend, reach.
This grabber helps a lot!!
I use it when my injuries act up.
Superior to ones I bought in past.
I recently used this when moving; prevented crawling on knees to clean out bottom cabinets and was faster to clean top.
