This album is excellent, but not by any means their best. My largest complaint may be a bonus for those that like "growled" lyrics, which are far more prominent in this album than any of their others. That aside, the majority of the singing is lyrical as usual for them, amazing guitar & keytar solos, and the fast paced music that I love!

I've been a DragonForce fan for more than a decade and own all their studio albums. This one is probably my least favourite of them all. I understand that they're sort of changing direction with their sound, but it's not a direction I'm particularly a fan of. Ever since ZP left and Marc took over the role of the vocalist, I've had a mental idea of "DragonForce 2.0" for the band. I wasn't a huge fan of The Power Within, but mostly attributed that to the band still finding its way with Marc. Maximum Overload blew me away and I thought they'd really found what they were going to do with Marc, so I thought this album would deliver as well. It doesn't. There are a few songs that are fairly good but a lot of them are just sort of there at best, and a few of them are most memorable because of the "Wow, that's just... not good" sort of feeling. This album features a bit more growled vocals as well. While those (as a concept) are fine, it doesn't fit with DragonForce. I listen to power metal expecting soaring vocals, not the growls. Overall, this album is underwhelming and forgettable. It's good as a background noise album, but if you're looking for the old DragonForce or even the Maximum Overload one, you're not going to find it with this album.

This is a really great album from Dragonforce. I still love Maximum Overload a bit more but that doesn't say this one is bad. I love a lot of the songs in this one!Read more
I've only played through it once but it seems to me the production is intentionally weak. You can understand every word like it is a pop album and the overall sonic-ness is...Read more

Good album, and I love that it includes a DVD with a live performance. Totally worth buying this over just the MP3s, for example.Read more
Wow! I've had this album for a few weeks now and this is pretty much all I've listened to during that time. I'm still not tired of it.Read more
DragonForce is the metal band we all want and deserve. Buy it, buy them all. Amazing band!
