Reader's Digest Large Print

4.5 out of 5 stars 161 customer reviews

  • The first print issue should arrive in 6-10 weeks. Details

International Addresses: Magazine subscriptions offered at Amazon.com can only be shipped within the 50 United States, APO/FPO address and U.S. Protectorates. We are unable to process magazines to other destinations at this time. Please contact the magazine's publisher for further assistance.

When to Expect Your First Issue: Magazine subscriptions ordered at Amazon.com are shipped to you by the magazine's publisher. The first issue of a weekly magazine should arrive within 4-6 weeks of your order. The first issue of a monthly magazine should arrive within 6-10 weeks, unless otherwise noted.

Once you've placed an order at Amazon.com, it can take one to two weeks for your subscription to be received and scheduled by the publisher. Your subscription is then added to the publisher's next production cycle and shipped via standard mail. For example, if your monthly subscription was ordered and received by the publisher in November, and the December issue has already shipped, your order may be added to the January mailing. You can find out more information, including how to contact the publisher about your subscription, in Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.

Renewing Your Subscription: If you are ordering as a renewal to the same name and address as the current subscription, the publisher will add the Amazon order to your current subscription. For example, if you have 5 issues left and you add 12 through Amazon, you will now have 17 issues left on your subscription. Please note that the expiration date in the Magazine Subscription Manager will not reflect if you were already on file with the publisher. We will work with the publisher to ensure that you still receive all of the issues left on your subscription.

Publication Frequency: Magazines which show "irregular" availability are those which are not published according to a regular schedule. If you place an order for such a magazine, you will receive new issues as soon as they are available.

  • Control your subscription settings anytime using Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.
  • If you purchase the auto-renewal offer, your subscription will renew for the same term length at the renewal rate available on Amazon. Cancel anytime.

2.0 out of 5 stars Condensed Version of Regular Print August 30, 2013
By Christy
Subscription Term Name:1 year auto-renewal|Verified Purchase
I am away from home and my husband just received his first issue. He was very pleased, but when we compared the two (large print and regular), we realized that the large print, although priced about twice as much, does not contain all of the same information. For instance, Humor in Uniform does not include all of the stories, and commentaries at the end of articles are missing. I have not done an article by article comparison, but I wish this had been stated clearly in the description.

4.0 out of 5 stars As expected February 15, 2010
By A. Beal

The magazine meets expectations. My ederly father is able to read it without his reading glasses. The only complaint I have is the time it took from ordering to the first installment (2 months), wished processing time was more effecient and expedited.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Customer Service -- Like Falling Into a Black Hole January 11, 2015
By ARH
Subscription Term Name:1 year auto-renewal|Verified Purchase
Readers Digest has been around for years and is enjoyed by many including my 93 year old stepmother. Let me explain the 1-STAR rating right off the bat: Reader's Digest customer service ranks right down there with COMCAST/XFINITY. My stepmother was concerned because she hadn't received her January large print issue; no problem, I'll contact customer service. Like the Wizzard of Oz, customer service is elusive and hidden, and you can only contact them through an e-mail system. Okay, this should be easy. I clicked on "missed and issue or received a damaged issues" and proceeded to type in, "Did not receive January's issue." A day later I received an email from "Danielle, Reader's Digest Customer Service," who thanked me for contacting them and stated, "We have processed your CANCELLATION REQUEST [emphasis added]." Needless to say, I IMMEDIATELY emailed "Danielle" back and stated that I was not canceling the subscription, but trying to remedy the missing January issue. The next day I received an email that the cancellation was processed and a refund was being applied to my credit card. Unbelievable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Large print addition is excellent choice December 2, 2009
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
I purchased the large print Reader's Digest for my Mother and her roomate who are in a care home. They are both avid readers.
They loved the last subscription of RD so when I saw the large print version I thought I would try it. They called today to say how much more they enjoyed the
large print because they could read it for a long time without any eye strain. Thank you RD for making their lives a little more enjoyable today!

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed in delivery February 8, 2010
Subscription Term Name:1 year auto-renewal|Verified Purchase
I ordered a subscription of Readers Digest in December to be sent to my dad for Christmas. I have been sent both the December and January issues to my address, instead of my father's address. They will not be able to correct the problem until the February issue!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice reading June 30, 2015
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
Very enjoyable on the large print format. This was a gift for a lovely lady that enjoys browsing through magazines, and every time it is delivered it is enjoyed by just about every member in the house. Is not cutting edge, is not dark reading, it's Reader's Digest Large Print, a magazine that seems to have been around for a very long time. There is a lot of entertainment value that is derived from reading this magazine, mostly by the females in the household, and the price was pretty nice. 4 Stars.

Reader's Digest Large print
Amazon says 12 issues in a year. RD on its website says 10 issues in a year. Who's right?
