I loved this book for a million reasons but if you want to have a million vacation into another life, both good and bad, dive into this lovely. It will surely leave you thinking about life and loving yours.
This copy was purchased for a friend who is a "new" reader--and she finished it in 3 days. Now I have her equipped with a library card as well.
Of all the dozens of thriller novels I have read, this one feels the most realistic. It reads like a true crime report but is still just as fascinating as any fiction in the genre. And of course, even though we obviously know the Jackal will fail, we don't know how and we don't know how damn close he will get.
Forsyth proves he is a truly gifted writer who crafts a great yarn while backing it up with enough facts that make it seem all the more real and all the more terrifying.
It gives you an understanding why veterans are sometimes reluctant to talk about their wartime experiences.
