The hair is big, but the drama is bigger in THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY. While family remains a priority for each of these women, their shopping, decorating, dating and even fighting are all over-the-top.
From their wild weekend in Atlantic City to the infamous table flip, watch every episode of THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY: THE COMPLETE SEASON ONE including the two Watch What Happens episodes, The Lost Footage and the Director s Cut of the season finale, all of 3 DVDs.

The conceit of Bravo's The Real Housewives franchise is to showcase women who make the fictional characters on ABC's Desperate Housewives seem like amateurs. And in that sense, The Real Housewives of New Jersey is successful. The women certainly are colorful, but as interesting? No. Still, it's easy to see why this series is popular. The women are pretty enough, plenty catty, and some are even downright diabolical. They're kind of what Heidi from The Hills might grow up to become 10 or 15 years down the line. Every reality series has to have a villain, and the first season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey has one in brassy Danielle. While she may not stick her boogery finger in a jar of communal peanut butter (as did Puck on The Real World: San Francisco), Danielle is an instigator. Many of her alleged actions are chronicled in a book written by her ex-husband. Is she a drug addict? Was she a hooker in the past? Does she have a history of altercations with the police? (Her ex is a police officer.) The truth is less important than the way she--and the rest of the housewives--deal with the accusations on the show. There are histrionics, table turning, and plenty of "Oh no she didn't" moments.

And that's what makes this tacky series watchable. It's almost difficult to believe that these women are real people, because they come across as such characters. Besides the aforementioned Danielle, the show features sisters Caroline and Dina, who are alpha gals of the series. Caroline says things like, "Before I like you, I don't like you," which is either really deep or paranoid, depending on your point of view. Their best friend Teresa is a serious stage mom and their low-key sister-in-law Jacqueline deals with life as best as she can, but she has a difficult time keeping her entitled daughter in line. But Jacqueline's biggest fault--in the other gals' eyes--is her friendship with Danielle. Amid all this drama, there is hope. Danielle's daughter Christine is wise beyond her years. She sees not only through her mother's odd exploits, but also through the tough words that the other housewives spit out. It's time for this girl to get her own series. --Jae-Ha Kim

I promised I would not buy this because I have seen it a million times on Bravo but of all the "Housewives" franchises, New Jersey is my favorite! Atlanta used to be but there is something more genuine and organic about the drama between this particular group of ladies. I'm anxiously waiting for Season 2 to begin next month for even more table flipping!

I love the relationship between the sisters Caroline and Dina. With their sister-in-law Jacqueline and close friend Theresa, the odd "woman" out is Danielle. You really want to root for her but there's something about her that makes that a little difficult. I don't know if her past has hardened her (which it more than likely did), but her caustic and biting tongue are a little hard to take at times.

If you haven't checked out this series, indulge just once...you may also love love love it!

I really enjoyed watching these New Jersey women. All of the women, except Danielle, are good people that I would love to have as my friends. I appreciate that they are willing to let us, strangers, share in their every day ups and downs. All the best to Caroline, Teresa, Jacqueline, Dina and to all of their families. To Danielle, sending "light and love".

Frankly I just wanted to see how it all started. OMG, Teresa just handing out those 100s to the children's store and for the furniture. What an idiot first to pay cash for that large amount and secondly for all to see on t.v. What was she thinking, oh nevermind it's Teresa, she didn't know.

I watch this show and wanted to go back to see the beginning. It was enjoyable, but I believe the show gets better each year. It is really a unique representation of a unique culture that is ver different from mine. The reunions are always interesting. Good Watch!

This is a fun guilty pleasure. Afterwards, you may wish you got back the time you spent watching this -- but while you're watching you'll be having fun, haha.

The storyline was well-edited and the ending was good too imo.

S1 follows the lives of 5 women (4 married: Teresa, Dina, Jac, and Caroline and 1 divorcee: Danielle) throughout the Garden State. There are 10 episodes (6 regular episodes, 1 directors cut of the unforgettable 'Last Supper', a 2 part reunion and 1 lost footage episode). Like all the housewives before them, you see how they live their lifestyles, take care of their families and homes, and how they adapt within their social circles. However with any good reality TV show dealing with women there is bound to be cattiness, betrayal, and jealousy right around the corner.

The storyline of S1 is mostly centered around Danielle's past that ends up getting dug up by one Caroline Manzo with "the book" after Caroline feels like her family is being threatened when Dina (her sister) and Danielle finds themselves at odds.

The great thing about the NJ series the quality of editing makes this season feel authentic and extremely entertaining without it being too producer manipulated. My personal favorites throughout this series are Teresa, Danielle, and Dina (and even still after five seasons).

If you love any of the housewives franchises and never watched Jersey before I highly recommend checking this one out.

Season One is a must see for anyone wanting to catch up the other sequels, not because it's season one, but because it is the beginning of how all the feuding began! From my favorite housewife Theresa, to her on-going feud with former model and housewife, Danielle, and the infamous table flip, to Caroline, Dina, and Jacqueline's flared tempers toward Danielle, this is sure to be one season you won't forget, and will want to watch it over and over again!

Bravo and Amazon - Great job. Andy Cohen is the only host that could interview all the ladies from all the cities with such class and flair. He is a genius, not only as a host but as one of the creators. I'm a little late watching these and I am glad I got to watch this way with no adds and really get a feel for how it all works. Danielle is ill. She thinks everything is a personal slight and makes way more out of it than it ever is. Theresa, Dina, Jaquelline and Carolyn are all lovely. I wish they would have remained the cast and the brother and cousin would have never come on. That sister-in-law came on and just trashed Theresa and her family right from the get go. Why come on TV to do that. Wow. That Christening was all the brother's fault. Jo Juidice was just standing there and he went insane at his Son's supposedly holy day. And Theresa is out of line? Wow again. Of course I'm talking about Season 3. 1 and 2 were pretty good even with the whacko and her bodyguards, I did laugh about that, how over the top she is. I've known a few people like her. I hear Dina is back this year in July.
