After reading this book you still learn practically nothing because a lot of things described in the book is a “common sense” things. For example, you need to download from SS website a report that shows your earning and how much you will be entitled to receive at full retirement age, or if you become disable, etc. or information re your medical records: try to collect yourself or doctor will request money.
The author does not mention very important fact: if you had Long Term Disability coverage through your employer, then apply for such disability payments first. Then the private insurance will provide you with a Public Advocate that will gather your information and do all the work. You do not need to pay for their service. Everything will be arranged by your private insurance. If you win SSDI, then portion will go to Public Advocate, another portion you will be required to return to your private insurance company. But all that time you will have payments coming from your private insurance!
I know that for disable person each dollar counts. Save your $16 by not buying this useless book.
