So, I bought this product in excitement, hoping for brushes and at least one miniature to paint for practice. Clearly what is received is very different that what is advertised. Though I understand that it says "Miniature not included" at the bottom of the advert, the fact that it is placed on top of the box in the picture is HORRIBLY misleading. For someone like me, who is looking to get into mini painting and very excited for a starter set. This is off-putting to the hobby as a whole and makes me regret looking into it. Will I paint with what you sent me? Yes. Of course. I have other minis to paint. That said, I wish I had spent the money at my local game store instead of feeding into some company that feels it is needed to try to lure their customers in with crappy and misleading advertising.

I love Reaper's miniatures, so I gave this product the benefit of the doubt, even though many reviews talked about the paints not behaving properly. I should have listened. I've only tried four of the colors, but with two of them I had to jam a paperclip through the top to get any paint out. What was there had separated, dried and formed a hard cap. I would assume that what's left would have poor coverage, since the pigment won't properly mix. With the other two colors I tried, there was no cap, but the paints seemed watery. My guess is that they too have separated and dried, but did so without blocking the cap. I shaked vigorously with all of them first, to no effect. Bummer, I was excited about these. I'll be going with another manufacturer next time.

Best paint-only beginner kit out there

Id def recommend this set over any of the other kits that come with brushes and minis. The paint selection in this set is awesome and in general the "comes with everything" kits youre trading out paint selection for two or 3 not very high quality brushes and some random mini. So youre better off buying this paint set, and buying your minis and brushes seperately.

With the colors given in this set, though you can mix pretty much any color you can imagine. Also comes with metallic silver and gold.

The paint itself has great coverage and a good consistency right out of the bottle, no thinning needed. The set does not come with a varnish/topcoat, so as with all water based acrylics, you'll want to get a topcoat to prevent wear on the paint from handling once youve painted your mini.

The set comes in a nice sturdy foam lined thick plastic carrying case, with plenty of room for additional paints. I was able to get the entire D&D Monster set by the Army Painter in the case along with the original paint, but that filled it up entirely. Still, thats a *lot* of room to expand your paint collection and store it safely.

I highly recommend this set over any of the other beginner kits offered.

Overall Im extremely pleased with my kit. I got it three months ago and I have painted 24 minis with it.
Though I am not a fan of it's metallic paint (I actually did better drybrushing metallic craft paints), and you will have to purchase a wash separately, I still think the selection is more than perfect for a beginner like me, and you can get any more colors you're missing on your own later.

This product is way over priced. The bottles are small, the box is great. The slots are nice but for this price point, expected much more. No brushes, no mixing bottle, no anything to justify the price. You can get much more for half the price. This is getting returned.

It seemed pretty good at first but from using it.,I find it sucks.
The outside is durable and has a good design but the interior. Very bad.
Nowhere to put your brushes! The removable plastic insert comes out when you try to pull out any paints and messes up your set up so you have to dump everything out and put it all back in.
The minis tray seems good but as soon as you carry it around and open it up, your minis have been shifted all about.
Overall it's a pretty lousy product. Usually Reaper put out great stuff.
This one was obviously not tested and was shoved out the door to make a profit. I tried to make it work but I should have returned it immediately.
Stick to the foam insert cases Reaper makes they are better even though the sticker on the outside sucks and starts to fall of but the interior is the best.
