I have loved every book in this series, but A Reason to Live COMPLETELY rounds out the series so perfectly. As usual, the suspense is intense and exciting and the mystery of it all keeps you turning the pages. I couldn't for the life of me put this book down! LOVED EVERY SINGLE WORD! Seriously!

Shane and Sage were another example of how to fight for something that you cherish. Jack, Max and Shane are men that you can't ever forget. Men you don't WANT to forget. Men you want your sons to become! I know I'll be re-reading this series a lot in the future.

Sage is incredible. Strong, smart, and determined. And her job certainly requires it. Working with children who are being neglected or abused and determining whether or not they need to be removed from their parents' custody… seriously a tough job. But she does it and she is good at it and she certainly knows how to handle herself. She's struggled since the tragedy that happens at the beginning of the story, but she still has that spark that was there in her sister as well. A sister that Shane knew and cared for. Her past was not easy and it shaped her into the beautiful and fascinating woman she has become. Flaws and all.

Shane has been in darkness. A pit of despair for a year and he can't find his way out. Not even with the help of his family and friends. But he is such a unique character. Strong as you would expect, but holds such a caring core as well. He knows what is in front of him but he is willing to sacrifice his own happiness to ensure the happiness of others. He doesn't do this blindly, but very maturely. I think that is why I fell in love with him so quickly. His protectiveness of Sage is immediate and the reason why is touching and beautiful.

Some stories and characters seem to claim a part of your heart in a way you don't want to let them go. CP Smith has not only captivated my attention and stolen my heart, she's given me a gift of a beautiful feeling. Hope. It might seem simple, or even silly but this world sometimes saps us, drains us and simply kicks our butt. When an author succeeds in taking you away and awarding a few hours of relaxing peace, well it's just magic.

All of these characters were so vibrant with passion and life that I just can't say how special they are to me. Shane and Sage were the perfect ending to an amazing series. One darkly yet enigmatic good and honorable man, Shane just filled the role of hero in the best way.
Sage was the best fit to tame his darkness and the had the right balance of vulnerability and grace ..
I absolutely breezed right through this story and will admit I felt a little depressed when it ended. The greatest thing about the talent of this author is that she breathed such heart into these people that I can just imagine they are out there raising hell and living life.. Waiting for another crazy adventure and more days to share the beauty of their lives together.

I have hopes and dreams that we aren't really saying goodbye.. But maybe just see ya later.
Afterall. Agent Parker.. We still need your story. This guy called my name in Property Of and now he's even more intriguing. So keep that writing hand ready lady. I can't wait for more.

"Being broken because your heart is pure makes you human in the most beautiful way."

Do you believe is soulmates? Love at first sight? I don't know that I did, but now with a third 'Reason' book from Ms. Smith, I'm starting to believe.

"Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies. Aristotle."

Sergeant Shane Sherman feels immense guilt for the death of Emma Jane Sloan. She was a quiet, shy 19 year old who joined the army to earn money for her education and ended up dying in Afghanistan. Shane was her commanding officer and self appointed protector. Now he is back in Trails End, Alaska paying his self-appointed penance.

Sage Sloan is running from threats against her. As a counselor of abused and neglected kids, she has drawn enemies. She runs to Trails End to the one man her sister trusted. Sage knows enough to fear men after her own history of abuse, yet she sees nothing but gentleness in Shane despite his gruff exterior and hulking ex-army persona.

Between pushing Sage away to avoid the painful memories of her sister and holding her close to keep her safe from her enemies, Shane's head and heart is spinning. And when the enemy comes after Sage, it's the entire city of Trails end and the Gunnison/Hunter family that helps to keep Sage safe.

This book brings the 'Reason' series full circle with a lot of Max and Mia as well as some Jenn and Jack from Gunnison, Colorado. It reminds me even more how much I love them all. The banter between Max and Mia is epic. Jenn and Jack haven't changed a bit. And Maxine, Max's mother is awesome and mettlesome and just plain priceless. And don't forget about those Bears.

Ms. Smith has become one of my favorite authors for many reasons.

CP Smith took her storytelling and alpha delivering to a whole new level with A Reason To Live! GAH! I can't even handle how madly in love I am with Shane and Sage along with the rest of the nutty gang from the Reason Series!

Maxine has to be one of the best female characters I've ever read. She's pure gold. Witty, feisty, and definitely dances to the beat of her own drum. Add in the trouble she stirs with the ladies and I was laughing out loud on more than one occasion. She keeps things interesting that's for sure!

Shane. *sigh* What perfection. Not only is he brooding, grumpy, and gruff, along with his possessive and protectiveness. His deep rooted misplaced guilt and internal turmoil add to his complexity as well. Making him my favorite alpha from CP Smith to date!! Sage is his perfect compliment. She's fierce and loyal, set in her ways to show him how good he is and how amazing they can be together, but she also can bend to his will making their chemistry and connection boiling hot!

CP Smith told a story that had me sitting on the edge of my seat, laughing out loud, swooning hard, tearing up, and melting into a puddle. It's angsty and heartbreaking, mixed with love and passion, with a side of humor and suspense. Making the perfect book you'll never want to put down!

A Reason To Live gave me a reason to LOVE!
