On another note, Richard's brother is a total prick but I think he has potential and would love to see a redemption story about him and Harriet.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
From the first page, I became fascinated by Heather Boyd's book Reason to Wed. This author is new to me, and when I saw, the cover of her book, at NetGalley, I had to request it. She didn't disappoint me, quite the opposite, I was left spellbound by Richard and Esme's passionate story. As soon as I started reading it, I soon got pulled into their story, and could not put it down. In fact, I finished it the same day!
It's the beautiful Regency love story of Richard, an adorable man, but a little bit conceited and Esme, a charming widow in her thirties. In his mid-forties, Richard is desperate to meet the perfect wife to give him an heir, meanwhile, he prefers relationship with no engagement. Until he meets Esme, who will change his life for the best. Sparks flare around them and ignite a sizzling passion! To save Esme, from embarrassment, Richard proposes her a bargain, they both won't regret of having accepted! What does he have in mind? Will she accept? What will happen next? If you love a story that is scorching hot, then, Reason to Wed, will be perfect for you!
Even, if I haven't read her previous books, in The Distinguished Rogues series, I really enjoyed it very much. Ms. Boyd's publisher offered me the opportunity to discover this new author and I'm not disappointed. I adored this Regency romance, filled lots of passion. I’m looking forward to read her other books!
I think this would be a favorite among the Distinguished Rogues novels, it hits the rights notes on everything. A very sexy, humorous and absolutely adorable friends to lovers story that just makes you smile and laugh along with the characters. Esme and Richard being mature adults are just perfect, it goes to show that love knows no boundaries or age and yes an acceptance of even the most bizarre family ritual just to get your bride. Fantastic!

No strings attached may be what they were thinking but those “best laid plans” often run amoke when emotions and mother nature gets involved.
