Absolutely love it... BUT there are definitely a few flaws
on January 3, 2013
I truly have fallen in love with Rebecca Minkoff bags. Within the past month I have purchased another two to add to my collection. Her bags are gorgeous, there's no question about that. The leather is very supple and soft and has that wonderful smell of quality. I have received so many compliments in regards to this particular bag. The Swing Shoulder bag is a wonderful size, has beautiful details that make it unique, and can go with nearly everything I own. I also love how this bag may be worn with jeans and a t-shirt as well as a nice dress and heels. It is very versatile. Now, I have encountered some problems in the very short time I have owned this handbag. The first is.... the leather. Yes, as I mentioned before it is so soft and supple and gorgeous. However, this causes for it to scratch easily, way too easily. I take handbag care very seriously. It is an investment. I honestly do not understand how so many scratches could appear out of nowhere in the very little time it has been since I purchased this handbag. With the handbag being such a light shade of pink the scratches are rather noticeable - and that is unacceptable. Also, the leather appears to be rubbing off near the opening of the bag. This is also unacceptable. Perhaps the quality of leather is not so great? I would recommend this handbag to others, BUT definitely invest in some leather treatment and do not be surprised when (not if) there are quite a few very NOTICEABLE scratches that appear to have come out of thin air. The other minor complaint I have with this handbag is the simple fact that it is made in China. Rebecca Minkoff started off making her handbags here in the USA and I find it a bit disconcerting that they are now made in China. To some I am sure this is not a huge deal, and it isn't even the biggest deal to me. I just would really prefer that my nice, not to mention expensive, handbags be made in the USA or Italy. Seeing the words "Made in China" inside my gorgeous leather bag kind of makes me think of cheap toys and sad slave labor. Not pleasant.
