As a guy who's admittedly far from a professional photographer, this camera is perfect for the average Joe looking to get high quality shots. The quality of the pictures this thing takes with just the automatic mode is really impressive. I can't imagine how good of shots this thing is capable of if you have a true knowledge of all the features. I upgraded from a Nikon L120 point and shoot digital camera and I'm blown away by the quality of the Canon Rebel T3i. My buddy has owned this same model for a couple years and after seeing the amazing quality of pictures this camera provides and hearing him rave about it over and over again, it was inevitable that I was going to eventually buy one. Absolutely recommend. Camera arrived as advertised brand new with lens and all. Order placed Monday morning, camera hit my front porch by Friday afternoon.
