So, I didn't like the turn this book took with the pregnancy. I had to continue to read the trainwreck anyway. Rush was a very mushy idealistic, and cliche with his feelings. What I mean is, his love was corny, to the point of what a teenage girl would want a boy to feel and say.
Rush mushy love, feelings, protectiveness, etcetera was over the top to a point of feeling like a super fake fairy tale.
Gia didn't have any personality traits that I could see that would have him accepting so much. She didn't even have any confidence. I skipped over chapter 24 because it was getting monotonous. Basically Rush was all, "I love her, love her, love her, oh but yet again I refuse to have sex with her. What was that even about. Smh! Then all of a sudden it's time. The timing even seemed off. Why now, and why not before? This is.so confusing. Make it make sense
. I guess he wanted to yet again wait until he knew for sure. Rush didn't want to Rush! Typical. Like every person I ever knew named Tiny was very large beings.
Anyway, this wasn't the best read at all. It wasn't terrible, just corny, cliche with an extra mush man.
Seemed they write what they think women want. I rather a man love me for a reason and.out of true friendship versus a few conversations that I allowed because I all of a sudden opened up to someone.
The book was a bit weak and their connection lackluster for the severity of who he was and.what he was giving up for Gia. I guess I would have felt better if she had anything besides boobs going for her.
Just another Cinderella story retold.
5 stars!!!
“You have to figure out whether your love for Gia is stronger than your hate for your brother.”
OMG, I started this book as soon as it downloaded at midnight and read it all the way through without coming up for air, apart from grabbing a few Kleenex. As you may know, I didn’t love, love, love Rebel Heir, but I was still anxious for this one, because if anyone could turn me around, it was these two. Boy, did these two turn me around, not only that, inside out as well. This book was emotional, incredibly emotional and it was absolute perfection. Boy, have I cried a river over this one.
“…And it’s normal to have doubts, because there is always uncertainty in life. We live every day knowing that there’s a possibility we could die. Yet, we get up every day and do what we need to do anyway. Life shouldn’t be about constantly trying to prove that we’re safe from getting hurt. Life should be about living with uncertainty while we watch beautiful sunsets with the people we love.”
Don’t get me wrong, nothing bad happens, seriously, but what these two go through to get what they truly deserved tugged at every single heart string and some. I adored Rush with a passion in this book and was so taken with how responsible he was, how he weighed up everything and never took his decisions lightly. He was a man through and through, with a huge heart of gold, with a wise head on his shoulders and had learned from the mistakes that his father had made with him.
“Don’t let eighteen years pass before you stop running, Rush.”
Gia was her usual unfiltered self and I adored this about her. Gia was the perfect woman for Rush, she took no crap and said what was on her mind. It was this raw honesty between them that gives them the perfect, solid foundation to build their future on. I adored Gia’s relationship with her dad and the scenes between these two were just as emotional as those with Rush. Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward really dug deep in this book and pulled out one hell of an emotional arsenal and they certainly did a doozy on my heart.
I was so glad that this book wasn’t predictable, they turned what for me, was a predictable first book into the unexpected and I lapped up every single word. I highlighted so much in this book, not just sentences, but huge paragraphs as my heart was fit to burst with what I was reading. It was no easy journey for either of them and I am glad that Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward kept it real, honest and raw.
“There really was no more unfortunately in our story.”
Rebel Heart picks up where Rebel Heir left off, thank god, and from the first to last word is fast paced, action packed and full of heart and emotion. This book was the perfect ending for this couple and totally unputdownable. I adore these two writers as both individuals and as a duo and cannot wait to see what comes next.

Gia spent a lot of time feeling guilty and blaming herself for something that totally was not her fault (father of her baby who was conceived before she even met Rush).
Rush had to decide whether he could be a father to this baby despite knowing who it's 'sperm donor' is. So they spend a lot of time lusting after each other and in Rush's case jerking off. He is still protective and sweet but won't get back into a relationship with Gia until he's decided about whether he can be a dad to her baby.
And as for the baby... I don't know why the sperm donor needed to know, he left Gia with a false name and without giving his number so without chance there was no way she could have ever contacted him anyway!!
Did find the scene where Rush gave Gia the maternity clothes very funny! And I did think that Gia's dad and Rush's Mom would suit each other so liked the ending..

The story concluded well but the lack of bedroom action really took away what I’ve come to expect from these ladies.
Sorry. But I tell it like it is.
Next time, more sex and angst. Less inner monologue.
