Oh where to start. This book is to die for. Let's start with Vincent. Vincent Vincent Vincent. Oh how I love thee. My heart aches for him. I loved Vincent. He is tall dark tattooed and pierced. But why is he like this? What is his dark secrets he hides? I loved finding out things about Vincent and his life. I love his crude mouth. But what happens when Lisa comes waking back in his life. In walk Lisa back into his life. A woman he wanted but never got. She back in town because her best friend has kidnapped her to talk to her about her wedding. Los runs into Vincent. She has always wanted him but has never went there because she does want to be another notch on Vincent's post. But will temptation or fate cause her to second guess everything? This book is great. This book does end suddenly but don't worry there is more to come. I loved this series and can't wait to learn more about Vincent and Lisa. The next book cannot get here fast enough. The only downfall to this book is it over before you know it. It sucks you in and you can't put it down, so it's over before you know it. The only thing I wish is they were much longer. But hey 1000 pages still wouldn't be enough of Vincent. This book is a must read. 5 stars all the way.
So Vincent is a little bit of a slut. Most guys are but Vincent takes it to another level with multiple women at any given time. One right after the other they line up for this guy and the insight into him is yummy. There's some darkness lurking in his past that was traumatic and made my heart hurt for him. Lisa is used to her buttoned down life with her rich parents and intends to marry her very vanilla fiance Kevin when and impromptu trip shoves these two together and forces them to get to know each other and discover they share a common bond. I found myself loving this duo the more I got to see them interact together. I wanted to hate Vincent for being such a gross perverted pig who can't keep his junk contained but I have to say he won me over little by little and I loved him by the end. I would have liked a little bit more depth to the reasoning behind why he slept around so much and did the things he did and denied certain things because it obviously all ties into his issues but for the most part it was done well. Lisa turned out to be a great support system and I didn't think she'd have it in her to be compassionate but when push comes to shove I guess we all have an inner wellspring. I liked seeing her snap out of her self imposed funk and forced lifestyle. These two made an excellent pair.
We met Vincent who is Rush’s friend and works at the tattoo shop with him and Lisa is who Addison’s best friend in the first two books. Vincent was pretty much the same person he was at the start of this book, a nasty foul mouth man-ho. Lisa was also pretty crazy and free in the sex department in those books but after some disappointments after graduating college she ran back home to rich mommy and daddy and agree to marry a clean cut guy to live the white picket fence life.
Addison kidnaps her and brings her back to Vegas to try and talk some sense into her. This reunites Vincent and Lisa who act like they cant stand each other but deep down they’ve always been attracted to the other.
After a night of heavy drinking they wake up on a plane that takes them to Vincent’s home town, a place he ran from years ago to try and escape some ugly childhood memories. Here is where the story gets deep.
I love books that are full of angst yet also having you laughing so hard your almost crying. This book blended both things perfectly and I look forward to more of each couple’s stories.
Lisa is a very believable young woman with no idea what to do with her life after college. She lost herself very quickly and then ended up on the path of least resistance. There is an reason electricity takes this path, because it is easy and safe and the next thing you know, you are living someone else's idea of a happy ever after.
When we finally learn what makes V tick, the interactions between the two are amazing. Lisa finally remembers she is strong and can think for herself and V learns there is a different way to deal with is past and trauma.
I applaud Laura Wright for Vincent. She created a deeply wounded character and took on topics that are uncomfortable for a lot of people but is more "accepted" when it happens to female characters.
I can't wait for more of Lisa and V.
