Arrogant, impossibly obnoxious and flirty to boot, Gavin Caldwell is exactly what Angie hates. The kind of person who has everything served to him on a golden platter, never having to lift his finger for everything. Wanting nothing more than to put distance between them without offending her finally-happy mother, she claims a spot on a luxury cruise. What do you know! A day later, she finds herself married to Gavin…
What a fun ride! I seriously cannot believe this is Kim Linwood’s first novel. It’s well-written, fast-paced, professionally edited; it doesn’t falter one bit. Serving the currently hot stepbrother romance sub-genre perfectly, the author has come up with a story that follows a well-trodden path but offers enough twists and tons of fun moments to make this a truly fun read. It moves on so fast, I read it in (almost) one sitting, and at times I laughed out loud. Angie tries really hard to stand her ground, but Gavin is impossibly impossible and way too sexy for an eighteen-year-old to resist. Especially when a minister has officiated their wedding. I won’t give more details on that, but it was a nice gimmick to tie the couple in a knot (pun intended).
What I also enjoyed is the addition of Joyce as secondary character, the octogenarian woman who shared some seriously progressive wisdom with Angie during the cruise. That was a nice touch, one rarely sees in New Adult romances. Oh, and the steaminess will turn wherever you're reading this into a sauna.
Five stars to this debut novel by Kim Linwood because she truly knows her audience and caters to its needs in the most effective way.
Angie is very smart and she comes up with amazing goals and doesn't let anyone stand in her way. She's going to go to Stanford for pre-med on a full ride scholarship. She's gorgeous but she doesn't realize it. She can be a little naive when it comes to guys. Her father passed away four years before and she still misses him greatly. Her parents loved each other greatly.
Gavin is tattooed, hot, sexy, and at times a very bad boy. He's not used to being turned down and that is partly why Angie is different to him. He has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He's used to people wanting him only for his money and the power his family has. His father wasn't around much and didn't spend the kind of time he wanted with him. He's seen how women have gone after his father for the money and he's even experienced it with girls and women. He can't control how Angie makes him feel and how she makes things brighter for him.
Definitely worth reading.
Overview. Angie is getting read to go to college and wants to get rid of her V card. Her friend tells her to find a one night stand instead of her first time with her boyfriend. So the head to a club where she meet Gavin. A hot, arrogant, but sexy guy who gives her lots of tingles. Tingles her boyfriend doesn't give her. But Angie couldn't go through with it. She wanted more for her first time, so she runs. A few days later, her mom announces that she met someone and she is engaged. When Herbert comes over with his son, she is shocked to see Gavin again. That sexy, arrogant, pervert that has been on her mind non stop is now her in her house and is going to be a step brother. When Herbert surprises everyone that he wants to get hitched on a 2 week cruise, her mom freaks. Not because she don't want to marry, but because she gets seasick. So Herbert throws away the tickets. Angie decides it's a perfect free vacation. She calls her boyfriend and tells him to meet her at 8 am on the dock, but he doesn't come. Instead, Gavin shows up. Now she has 2 weeks with that sexy, arrogant, pervert who makes her tingle all over. 2 weeks of surprises to happen in this story.
Three weeks later they are reacquainted in her mother's place where her mother introduces his father as her fiancée. They didn't hit it off very well secondary to Gavin's paranoid and suspicious attitude towards all women being gold diggers!!
Angie and Gavin end up on a luxury cruise pretending to be their parents and all the banter and flirting happen. Angie is convinced that Gavin is an a**hole, which he does give her a good reason to believe. Though she is pretty b****y herself. I will let you, good readers, figure out what happens on this little luxurious adventure!!! But I will say, sign me up for the next cruise!!!!
Miss Linwood wrote this book so well that it was like watching a real life skit in my brain!! I am no English professor, but I found no grammatical mistakes, which is refreshing! Too many "authors" these days do not edit or have anyone edit for them and the grammatical mistakes detract from the book.

A chance meeting has the pair nearly getting down and dirty with a one night stand until Angie changes her mind and runs out on Gavin.
They then get introduced at dinner when her mother and his father announce their wedding.
With a cruise that they both end up on that's meant for their parents the couple end up married.
Find out what happens with these fabulous characters.
Loved this book.
