The story explores various romance dynamics while proceeding with a fast paced adventure full of mysteries to contemplate, and rich in psychological levels for consideration. The tale resumes exploration of the theme of magic laced with political overtones and the struggles of leadership in accomplishing goals even with primarily cooperative supporters.
Not a typical happy ending story, imbalances get corrected, but the characters are left with loss and dilemmas. Also, the reader is left with some nagging questions, setting up beautifully the desire to continue with the engrossing series.
I think that once again there is something for everyone in this book, so whether you like fantasy, conflict, suspense, psychological thrillers, reading books that make you think, or even a bit of romance, you will find it in these pages. I suggest reading the first one in the series, The Bravest of Souls, first, but this is a great read on its own. Sometimes life just isn't simple, but the path to finding who we are and what we will do with that knowledge when we discover it has been well-written. Now I am ready to read the next in the series!!!
I would like to encourage Mr. Oliver to continue writing so that I can continue reading.
We follow Niv'leana, Fraise and company as their journey continues, and as they explore the land, the enemy, unexpected emotions, and their own psyche and motivations.
Will they reach their goal? If they reach their goal, what will they find there? and will their desires still be the same once they get there? and who, or what, will they meet along the way?
I know the answer to all of those questions, because i read this book. but i'm not tellin.
Rebirth is genuinely a great read. It's better written than the first - it's better thought out, more cohesive, better continuity, it flows smoothly, with rich dialogue and subtle turns and intricate layers.
I was a little disappointed when it ended - not because of the way it ended, but because i wanted for it to keep going. i wasn't ready to be finished with it yet. My issue, not the authors. :)
I said in my review of the first book that i was very curious to watch this author develop - that i thought we might see great things from him in the future, and this book borders on great.
If Robert Oliver continues this pace and scale, it will only be another couple of years before Amazon has to add more stars to their rating system.
Keep it up, Mr. Oliver!
sincerely, your faithful readers
