I especially like this in Kindle format. See, I do something that appalls people when I travel: I tear up my travel guides, keeping only the pages I figure I'll need for reference. I just can't see the point of hauling a thick, heavy travel guide (or two or three) around as I travel.
So, the fact that this is on Kindle and it links to lots of websites for the most current information... well, I'd say it's worth its weight in gold, but this weighs nothing.
For me, this is a great book in a great format for anyone who travels. And, for anyone visiting the U.K., it'll point you in the direction of truly wonderful, free things to see and do while you're there.
It's best for people who like history (and historical sites to visit) as well as off-the-beaten-path destinations. However, the attractions in London, Edinburgh, and Cardiff will appeal to absolutely anyone who wants the best tourist experience for the least money.
In addition, this guide is ideal for families with small children. If your family is like mine, you've had the frustrating experience of buying expensive tickets to a stately home or museum... and then you've had to leave because one of the children was being fussy. When you're visiting free attractions, the stress is off.
If you're going to the U.K. for business or vacation, get a copy of this Kindle book. I think you'll be very glad that you did.

Nothing new from any other publication...magazines, travel books, websites.
Lacks descriptive information of the sites.

I hoped to use this to plan a trip, but this works best for someone who already knows where they're going to go and expects to have some extra time for touring.Published on March 15, 2013 by Martin reader
