My fiance loves this cookbook because it has a lot of recipes with bacon in it. But it also has a lot of healthy stuff, some great salads, and a good variety of wholesome meals. It's hard to peg this cookbook into a "style", but if I had to create one it would just be "stuff you want to eat and will actually make." Nothing fancy, nothing French, just good food.
This cookbook is filled with some of my favorite recipes. The cookbook has an attractive cover, front and back. I collect cookbooks, and what I have discovered is that I don't look at them when I am hungry. I read cookbooks like I read books, they are filled with such sustenance, telling their own stories. This cookbook has 195 recipes, and most of them are ones I would try. They are filled with ingredients you should have in your kitchen, easy to read , not difficult to make, and delicious to eat.
The author, Lori Lange opens the book telling us her story, how she came to be a food blogger and then a cookbook writer. She has a section on what we should have in our kitchen and our refrigerator. Then we start with the recipes, Hungry Mornings,-one of my fave recipes is the fluffy pancakes. Onto, Let's Do Lunch, a fave recipe is grilled romaine with blue cheese, tomato and bacon salad; then onto Happy Hour, fave recipe is hot seafood dip in a bread bowl; then Salads and Sides, fave recipe is perfect potato salad; Dinner At 6, fave recipe is creamy skillet baked penne pasta; Super Treats, fave recipe is Meyer Lemon Loaf Cake. Lori then has a chapter on Entertaining, how to's. She provides sample menus for us to try. 323 pages of recipes, many pictures of these delicacies. If I had one suggestion, it would be to provide a picture for each recipe, that would make it a 5 star cookbook.

I have made her Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake SO many times and it's always devoured. Simple recipes, that aren't typical that my kids will eat...love!
All of the recipes are amazing, and great for entertaining. I'm so pumped to use the party menus in the back for some serious entertaining this summer.
