* Cinnamon Honey Butter is not in this book. Its easy to make. Equal parts of Honey and softened butter whipped together with a little cinnamon to taste. I usually do 8 oz of each ( 1/2cup) honey and butter with 1 tsp cinnamon or allspice.
Haven't really been a major honey fan as I've found the flavor a bit strong for me and I'm not really a tea drinker (which is how I normally associate the use of honey). But this book has been a revelation in a way.
The recipes are quite varied and don't stick to just the sweet types. It covers the range from breads, entrees, salads, appetizers and so on. And the recipes are good! I've tried a couple of the bread recipes (biscuit and corn bread) and the flavor and texture were excellent. The honey made the breads more moist and the honey really heightened the flavor (especially when I slathered it with butter...ummmmm!)
Then I added honey to my version of coleslaw (which was a bit similar to the recipe in the book) and that worked out great, too. Now I can't wait to have the opportunity to use the recipe here for the kebabs and pork loin as Memorial Day is coming up and it would be a great addition to the food we normally prepare for the family.
I am really happy when books I get turn out to be so useful and this particular one is proving to be an excellent addition to my go-to cookbooks.
