A friend lent me this CD and I loved it so much I bought six copies for friends. Featuring readings by people such as Lou Reed, Richard Burton, Allen Ginsberg and even the Dada artist Kurt Schwitters, this is a CD for people who love to listen to language, for the joy of how words sound. And yet, there's nothing pretentious about it.
The music is very subtle and evocative, a chilled lounge soundtrack that swims around you, never dominating the words, just carrying them along for a perfect lazy Sunday listening experience. The booklet is great too, an excellent example of a 'real' product that people will want to own instead of downloading. I haven't loved a CD so much in years.
