I was captivated by the music and emotions Samantha Christy poured into Reckless Obsession. She brilliantly balances sweetness and heartbreak. And I swear Christy pulls memories right out of your head to include as well.

As with all her books, I’m furiously flipping pages on the edge of suspense wanting and needing to know Crews’ story and if Bria is the woman and singer that can heal his heart. Ultimately finding “The heart has an infinite capacity for love”. Tears were leaking from my eyes while these two squeezed my heart. I need the next book Reckless Invitation as soon as humanly possible!

Reckless Obsession is The first book in the Reckless Rockstar Series by Samantha Christy and it is a knockout. She, as always, has the most well developed characters and story-lines. I can't wait for the rest of the series.

Ms. Christy is a master of including characters from previous books into her stories. Several Firefighters from the Men on Fire Series, ball players from the Perfect Game Series as well as Mallory from the Mitchell Sisters and Chad from the Stone Brothers all either make an appearance or are mentioned in seemlessly in the story.

The main character Bria is the little sister of Firefighter Brett Cash, from the book Engulfing Emma in the Men on Fire Series. She is a great singer who is not appreciated as a backup singer by a well known group that takes a chance on an unknown band, becoming one of the lead singers, helping to the band make it onto the radio.

The other lead singer in the group Reckless Alibi, known as Crew, was not happy at first having her join the group. He was basically pushed into it by the rest of the band. He did not want her in the band because of his past history. Once they two start singing together, greatness happens and can not be denied. Crew's past is a major obstacle almost throughout the story. Once his whole past story is revealed, you will almost go thru an entire box of Kleenex. I don't think I have cried so much.

You do not need to have read any of Ms. Christy's previous books to enjoy this book or any of her other books but they are like Potato Chips; You can't stop at just one. If you are new, I recommend you start with the Mitchell Sisters, followed by the Stone Brothers, the Perfect Game, and then Men on Fire. You will not regret it.

One of my greatest days in the past few years was meeting Samantha Christ in person. My biggest regret was not getting a picture with her. I am one of her greatest fans and recommend her every chance I get. You can not go wrong with any of her books.

Crew is reserved, caring, and adds a sense of levity when needed. He is also haunted and broken. His pain is tangible. In contrast, Bria is confident and has the self-confidence to get her anywhere and through anything. The mix is volatile at times.
Reckless Obsession by Samantha Christy is another 5-star read. I thought it would be the first book of hers where I wasn’t going to need a box of tissues for then, BAM, she blindsides you!
I absolutely cannot wait to learn about each of the band members. She developed their characters just enough that has you begging for more of them.

I haven't read many books by this author but the ones I have spoke to me on so many levels and it's with a heavy heart that I say, this one didn't speak to me. Not on the level I expected but that doesn't mean it's not a good story because it is but I think sometimes starting a new series certain things get a little lost in translation. I liked the idea of this story and I especially enjoyed the characters but the relationship between Crew and Bria needed more depth, it's not enough to have them staring into each other as eyes while singing to express all the emotions. I guess I didn't fall with them and that's what I'm missing. I'm definitely planning on reading the next book.

Holy cow... this is Samantha first rockstar book and it was everything. I was able to connect with characters so well. You could just feel what they were going through.

Crew thought he found everything he wanted in life. All it takes is one night to make things to change. Fast forward and his band Reckless Alibi is starting to take off. Can he control everything he needs to make sure he gets what he wants?

Bria got the gig of a life time with White Poison. What could be better, well besides singer your own material. When things go sideways you find yourself needing a new gig. So what’s better than trying to make it work with Ruthless Alibi...

I truly love this author, but for me this book was frustrating. Crew was basically an ass for 95% of it. Even when his reason was revealed, because it took too long to get there, I didn't evoke the sympathy from me that it should have. Also, without giving anything away, a big part of the reason why he was like this, didn't seem plausible. I'll leave it at that. Bria was cool, but why would she fall for him? I didn’t see her motivation for loving him. Again, I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t enjoy it like the other books written by this author.

In a new series standalone from one of my favorite authors, Samantha Christy, Reckless Obsession has every thing a rock star romance reader could want:

A beautiful new female co-lead singer: check
An angsty backstory: check
A plot that has you up all night: check
A band that makes it hard to wait to read about all the other members: check, check and check!!

Do you need more? I won’t give you spoilers but if you love hot rockers , if you love angsty books with ALL the feels? Reckless Obsession is for you because you’ll laugh, you’ll scoff, you’ll want to reach in and shake the living daylights out of a character and then give that character a hug a little, and of course there is alway the big ugly cry you’ll do.

So so good! Highly recommended!

Reckless Obsession the first book in her new series, and what an opener this is.

We’ve already met Bria, Brett Cash’s sister and know she’s off to tour with a major rock band. (if you’ve read Igniting Emma that is, and if not why not!! 😏)

Cash, he’s our new boy on the block and oh what a back story he’s got in store for us.

This was a major pull on the heart strings throughout. The tragedy is sole destroying.

Writing and performing songs isn’t the only thing that bring Bria and Crew together. The chemistry is undeniable, but when you start to deny yourself what you truly need things start to get a bit crazy.

This one goes deep.

Brilliant storyline, fantastic new characters who we can start to know and love.

Love the fact we now have a whole new group to have interlinked into a new series. And that we get to revisit with old favourites.

Liam is going to be an interesting one. Can’t wait to see where this series takes us. Me thinks it’s going to be a bumpy ride. But hey they’re always the best ones.

I’m really looking forward to the audio release, this is going to be fantastic to listen to.

I enjoyed this book but I'm afraid it wasn't what I was expecting, ok so it's my own fault because i made up a story in my head about Bria going on tour with White poison and her story would keep her there. Whilst this is what happens at the start of the book I wasn't expecting what happened next.
I love Crew and his story is heart wrenching! Gripping! Yet he's truly loveable.
That will teach me to presume!
A great start to this series and I can't wait for the next book. X
