"Five Stars... Part memoir and part manifesto, Reclaiming My Birth Rights is an interesting and inspiring read about educating yourself about options and learning to trust in your own intuition." --San Francisco Book Review
"It truly warms my heart when a fellow sister doctor--with excellent medical training--has the courage to see the dogma of medical training--especially when it comes to pregnancy, labor, and newborn care, and then gets the word out to others. In Reclaiming My Birth Rights, urologist Adrienne Carmack, MD, explores the wisdom inherent in the body and how to guide your life--and that of your children--with that wisdom, not medical dogma. I read this book and cheered!!" --Christiane Northrup, MD, author of Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom and The Wisdom of Menopause
"Dr Carmack's bold and beautiful life journey... inspires the reader to embark on a quest for holistic healthcare and authentic family living." --Kathryn Los, editor and publisher, Holistic Parenting Magazine
"The incredible journey of a woman who was able to complete a medical education with mind and heart still willing to learn.... While Dr. Carmack has a disclaimer about the medical advice in her book, if everyone followed her advice, mothers and babies would be healthier, happier, and we would be living in a more gentle world!" --Marilyn Milos, founder and executive director, National Organization of Circumcision Information Resource Centers (NOCIRC)
"If the medical profession accepted the common sense and recommendations contained in this insightful and courageous book, the health and welfare of children and society would be significantly improved." --Ronald Goldman, PhD, author of Circumcision: The Hidden Trauma

I've never understood why a mom would want to give birth, and then amputate part of their son's genitals, giving him extreme pain and a bloody wound, and scar tissue for the rest of his life. Taking a perfect baby and then scarring him, and trying to nurse a bloody wound at home after giving birth? Oh, and what about his rights as a person to have a whole, intact body? Doesn't anybody care about that?
Would give this 1,000,000 stars if I could.
