So when a person is ready or trying to understand all of this behaviour then this is the book 4 u. It is one that u can refer to over and over. It is like having your own personal therapist esp in those hours/time when u really need the help & support. Thank u Leora for this book . I wish she was in my state and I would love some therapy from her.
I highly recommend this book.
The end of the book is full of tools, tips and tricks for fighting binge eating including ways to deal with binge eating during PMS, EFT energy therapy, vitamins and supplements to take to help binge eating and cognitive behavioral exercises. There is just a lot in this book. I think that anyone who reads it will get something out of it. It is written in a perspective of "hey, this isn't working? that's okay, try this..." what works for some won't work for others, so given that, there are many different ways of stopping binge eating that are written about in this book.
I highly recommend it!
This book gets to the Understanding and the Why of binge eating disorder. Some of the whys include physiological, psychological and social influences. The social influence to be thin resonates with me because the author was in Weight Watchers at age 11. She was 95 pounds, and her mother was determined to get her down to 85. We see and hear this so much in families and the media. Oftentimes, parents pressure their children to be an ideal size because they fear they will have a harder time as an adult if they are overweight. Unfortunately, children continue to battle the voices in their head for a lifetime.
The information here is very well researched. The healing process is broken down into 34 steps, and the author goes to great lengths to document her sources and include other resources that readers can use for more information on how and where to get help. Highly recommended.
