So when a person is ready or trying to understand all of this behaviour then this is the book 4 u. It is one that u can refer to over and over. It is like having your own personal therapist esp in those hours/time when u really need the help & support. Thank u Leora for this book . I wish she was in my state and I would love some therapy from her.
I highly recommend this book.
Love for yourself. Love for the author. Compassion for all those struggling with eating disorders.
And it goes waaaaay beyond just making you feel good. It is somehow simultaneously a soul-searching, thought-provoking book, as well as a quintessential resource densely peppered with step by step ideas, workbook and journaling opportunities. I read it cover to cover, but you can easily skip around to topics and activities that speak to you. The most refreshing aspect of this book is that somehow, amazingly, beautifully, there is not a single whiff of something pedantic or preachy. Instead, Fulvio writes in essence, an honest letter to, from, and about very real people: fully aware that we stumble, we fail, we pick ourselves up, and then maybe we do it all over again... And we can still love ourselves for that. Her actual approach to treating eating disorders is so downright doable too because you can do just a little bit at a time, or a whole lot if you're ready. And you strongly get the sense that neither way is the "right" way, it's just "my way." That is so empowering. I feel like this is a book that every American woman should read - eating disorder or not.
Go love yourself!
This book is full of excellent tools to help recover.
And reading Leora's story is so helpful in that the reader knows she understands!
