This is the story of Roman Smirnosky and Kaia Beecher. He is a home restorer and she is a lawyer. They are both drawn to a small town in Colorado by fairly recent family tragedies. It is actually the place of their heritage. The town is special to both of their families.
They are immediately drawn into the complicated web of intrigue that has tied their two families together for decades. Together Roman and Kaia will try to determine if identical murders 20 years apart, two more recent deaths, an alleged family treasure, and a three-way family feud have all come together to poison the lives of their own generation.
The novel poses many questions: Can the main characters finally block the toxicity? Can they finally bring peace to themselves and to their small town?
For the answers, you must read it! I recommend this book to all readers of light romance and mystery.
An enjoyable read that I was able to savor longer than most books as I've had zero time to read lately. Kaia and Roman fall victim to that classic "you're too good for me" trap, but are so deliciously perfect for one another, I just couldn't help seeing this book through until the HEA. Throw in a family fued that spans several generations, an unknown villain, and some seriously disturbing back story, and you have one hell of a great romantic suspense. If you enjoy small town romance, well developed characters, and suspense with your romance, you will love this book. My favorite, so far, from this author. Well done.
