I went away for two weeks. I had other major name brand trail cams pointed in the same direction close to my reconyx. Several of them in fact.
111 photos on the other brand trail cams, and some with nil critters. That was the trail cam closest to the Reconyx that got only 111 photos with critters not in the shot. Kind of my own homemade side by side test comparison other brands v. reconyx.
2,849 pictures on the Reconyx Hyper Fire! It takes photos fast!
The other brand got an ocassional squirrel.
With tHe Reconyx, I got a black bear, does and bucks, turkeys, raccoons the other trail cams NEVER picked up! A bear is a pretty big thing for a trail cam to miss!!
Like the Reconyx ad, "see what you have been missing". I am now a firm believer!
I liked it so much I bought the Reconyx Microfire. Microfire is a but bigger and similar shape of a beer can but has WiFi so I can check photos off the trail cam from a distance in lieu of walking up to the Hyper Fire to pull out SD card.
I found the microfire a bit daunting to set up so I called Reconyx and after a few minutes in the phone with a real person, I got the camera to send videos
In hindsight, i have spent multiples of what one Reconyx cost and definitely I could have had a few Reconyx's.
I would rather have one Reconyx over the many trail cams I had and those I still have.
