This was one of my favourites as a child, and now that I've reached the ripe old age of 19, I still read it now and then. This book is brilliantly written from a kid's point of view (i.e. "juice tastes better in the red cup"), so all kids will enjoy it. I thought it was a nice touch that Kelly's mom lost patience about having everything red. That is SO true!
And just for the record, my red sweater keeps me warmer, my red mitts make better snowballs, my red shoes make my feet dance, my red socks make my toes wiggle.....

Didn't realize I was ordering a tiny 3 inch book. It's fine, I should have paid attention to the dimensions, I just don't usually worry about the size of the book I'm ordering. It's cute, just not really what I needed for my classroom. :)

This is a "feel good" book! I first bought this for my niece, and I loved it so much, I had to get one myself! I think Stinson really hits on the way a child's imagination works. The little girl, Kelly, can do anything when she is wearing her favorite color red. It makes me want to go buy everything red!

Children can easily relate to the dilemma mom faces as she tries to convince her toddler about which colored clothes are best to wear with each outfit. Easy for kids to identify the opinions and the support for each. Simple story, rich teaching opportunities.

I am a mom of four and a former preschool teacher. This book is one of my all time favorites. Quotes from this book have woven themselves into the fabric of our family life even though my children are now in their twenties! So I was thrilled to see that it now comes in a board book version. It is lovely. I bought several to give as baby gifts. --my one caveat is that you do have to read it so that the mom doesn't sound crabby. 😊

I would have given this book 4 or 5 stars (and probably not even gone to the effort of writing a review), however, I can't because the book is 3 x3 inches. I feel misled because NO WHERE in the product description does it mention this book is MINIATURE. I would not have purchased it. Great story, lame product.

I was disappointed when I received my copy of "Red is Best." I didn't expect it to be the size of half of an index card. I expected a paperback book- a normal sized paperback book! I don't remember reading anywhere on the website about the book being extremely tiny. I was only able to show my students the book by zooming the picture on my overhead projector. I spent $1.99 for the book, when it was worth about 50 cents in my opinion.
