The authors then go into how to play many different hands from late position. The thought process they use to describe how to play these hands is pure 21st century style of play.
They conclude with poker missions for continuous improvement which helps you look at your own game and see where you need help and in what areas. I would recommend this book to all poker players.
Hull is adept at explaining his thoughts as he runs through a hand. This practical approach is appealing to player's like me. What should I be thinking about in a hand? He answers these questions. Every time.
Perhaps the best component of this book (and Poker Plays You Can Use) is his addition of the missions. He explains how he thinks about hands. Great. But how do I do that? Well, Hull tells you how - with the missions. I've noticed numerous situations where I can make more money AND lose less money. Win-Win. I'm noticing more spots to win pots and frequently find myself knowing what players should do in pots I'm not even in. Basically, the missions bring you more in tune with the game. They focus you, correctly.
I look forward to Hull's third book, whenever that may be.
The information in the book is equivalent to some good hours of poker coaching who could cost at least 500$!
And the book costs only 10$!
The authors are great poker coaches and players with huge experience. The Book is at the same style as "Poker plays you can use" from Doug Houl, one of the authors of this book also, who is the best book ever published for live cash games. James Sweeney is also author of the best seller "Dynamic Full ring poker" , a great book explaining analytical thinking on cash games play and he is a very experienced poker coach.. Christian Soti has huge experience as a live cash games player.
It has a graphic representation for each hand, so the reader can see what's happening on the hand immediately
and keep viewing it while thinking the hand.
The text is rigid and accurate but gives a PLEASURE to read . It uses symbol figures with special meaning who helps the reader to immidietely see what is happening
in each hand. It has also a small bat valuable introductory chapter explaining how to use some poker software like Flopzilla and Pokerstrategy Equilab, how to use a fold equity calculator, and basic concepts of how to count combos, the basics of EV and the basics of hand reading.
I LOVE THIS BOOK! It has big value for my game. I 'm impressed from the book and waiting for more great news: The publication of Volume 2!
